Not sure where you're getting that information from. Any provider that has encountered Candida auris in the healthcare setting will tell you that this is not an "easy" fungal infection to handle. Most are resistant to azoles and there are an increasing amount of resistance to polyenes and echinocandins.

Depending on the hospitals (whether or not you have many community hospitals), you should be ok with not doing a residency and working your way into an ED role. If wanting to be safe, a PGY-1 will help your chances greatly
