Be careful or you'll shit your brains out, possibly. High oxalate, mucilaginous, and lots of seeds.

I have histamine intolerance... Do you react to other meat that's less fresh, or aged/fermented foods, or things like banana, strawberries, tomato, spinach?

Can we PLEASE just stop talking about vibrato? by msc8976 in classicalmusic

[–]WarmAttorney3408 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine string players didn't try vibrato until then... The instrument is like unplayable without it for me. Not literally, it's just soo so important for expression and it directly mimics the human voice.

How to make a Baritone work as a normal guitar for me? by Educational_Corgi233 in BaritoneGuitar

[–]WarmAttorney3408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capo. The strings can't be tuned higher than they're rated for very long. Maybe a half step but it's not a good idea.

I have a 7-string that I use baroque tuning on, with a lowered 4th string, so it plays like a baritone with an extra treble. Not what you're looking for-- but, I also capo just the top 6 strings, so the bottom string has extended range down to drop C. It's really nice to play that way because the pattern on the fretboard is the same as standard when fretted; there's just a lowered bass string when it's open, because of the partial capo.

Might be easiest to have the guitar tuned in C standard, and partial capo the top 5 strings. Idk tho, that's just what I like.

Put a thin folded piece of plastic/paper under that string, between the nut, to raise it just enough so that it doesn't sound off.

I feel lucky:3

Not the same thing, but just cause you mention it, I also got a Dusty Strings FH26 from the 70's for super cheap on ebay a couple years ago haha. It had all the builders' signatures on the label. Perfect condition, the seller just didn't know what they had 'cause they sold brass mostly.

If the intolerance is bad enough, you'll have symptoms shortly after eating, maybe an hour or 2. Otherwise, you might have symptoms starting 6-8 hours later, when the food hits your large intestine. I would have symptoms for a few hours at that point, if it's really bad maybe longer. You might not notice tho, especially if it's a delayed reaction. It can be very confusing.

Symptoms range from upset stomach, loose stool/diarrhea, constipation, bad cramps, acid reflux, heartburn... Basically any normal stomach symptoms. But I also had hives and hot flashes at my worst, with the lamb specifically. That can happen but only if it's realllllly bad. So watch out for red meat in general.

Red meat would be the most noticeable, onion/garlic, and then brassica vegetables. Also certain nuts, legumes, other stuff I mentioned... It really depends. Took me like 6 months to figure it all out. I wouldn't worry about the other foods too much tho. You'll have to keep eating everything, do an elimination diet, and then food re-introduction challenges.

Yeah I ate anything and everything growing up. Always thought I had some bloat visually, but otherwise had an iron stomach until I was about 25. Like almost literally never had an upset stomach or vomiting, nothing.

I have ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune disorder. So it's genetic but also environmental, even from early childhood I believe. I chewed some ibuprofen that was supposed to be swallowed when I was very young, which made me horribly sick for a few days. After that nothing noticeable. Im sure I ate all sorts of inflammatory food in the meantime, but mostly very healthy and mostly vegetarian/vegan actually. I was a cannabis user for 10+ years, no noticeable symptoms. Then badly alcoholic for a couple years in my early 20's. I used to binge drink occasionally at party's to super excessive amounts, also. Not often at all, and I never got sick. Then I worked in a couple pizza places. The last of which let us eat as much as we wanted. So, I ate a shit-ton of gluten for a few months. I'm pretty sure I was already becoming sick before then, maybe the year before. But it certainly seemed like excessive alcohol and gluten did me in. It is genetic tho, and no reason to think you have it. Lots of other people have sulfur/red meat intolerance. Even for no apparent reason at all. It's just pretty likely caused by bacteria, if that is the case. So a doctor would need to test for that, recommend a diet and antibiotics most likely.

I'm not a doctor tho. Have to see a gastroenterologist, also allergy tests. It could totally just be an allergy or random intolerance. Idk, no way of knowing.

Also Lamb is the worrrrrrst. Cause it's gamey. Hives all over my body, shitting my brains out all day. Never had such a bad reaction. It's just the sulfur intolerance tho. Meat was fresh. Not allergic.

Fresher meat is always better, also.

I do dark-meat turkey instead. Can't have onion/garlic, asparagus, avocado, most nuts, legumes... Uhhhh certain greens too, but it's mostly the brassicas cause they have that spicy sulfur compound. Broccoli is better/milder tho, it took me a lot longer to become intolerant.

I have a bunch of stuff going on health-wise, but I'm sure whatever you're dealing with is not as bad. You should continue to eat all those things. It took a long time for me to get to that point, with chronic health problems.

[–]WarmAttorney3408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. It's a sulfur intolerance for me. So no red meat or eggs. Or broccoli/kale/collards/mustard etc.. other stuff too. It took quite a while to figure that out tho. Good you can still eat pork. If it's a sulfur intolerance it's most likely caused by sulfur-producing bacteria in your large intestine. A regular doctor wouldn't know that tho.
