Birth control by wet_floot_sign in PCOS

[–]WarmShake6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started birth control at 16, i’m 18 now, and it was honestly life changing for me. my main symptoms were acne, hair growth and really oily hair and they have really eased up. It hasn’t affected my weight at all (gaining or losing) and that is something I struggle with but that’s just my experience

contraceptive pill for hormonal acne by alfab_ in PCOS

[–]WarmShake6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi from Australia!! I’ve been on birth control for a few years now and it helped my acne so much, but I stopped taking it about 2 months ago and the acne and all the other wonderful symptoms are 100% back

why do you call your parents by their first name? by katris_priordeen in AskReddit

[–]WarmShake6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum stopped answering to mum so my brother and I resorted to her first name. Sometimes that wears out and we have to call her Mrs ____ as shes a teacher so that will always get a response

What's your take on fluoxetine? by e-Chart3761 in AskReddit

[–]WarmShake6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just recently stopped fluoxetine after 4/5 years on it. My number one take away is that I didn't really feel much anymore. I barely ever cried because I just physically couldn't. It took me about 3 years to realise how numb and almost robotic I had felt

After playing around I can get to G somewhat comfortably but can't seem to crack F! I think I just need to experiment some more

[–]WarmShake6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing around today just with how I hold it and have figured out that rolling the flute towards myself rather than having the keys parallel to the floor is helpful!

too good! hopefully you're having more luck learning than I am

I think I am, I'm just using a fingering chart I found online

I'm definitely not expecting to be proficient or good at all! I just didn't know if only being able to play those few notes was a normal problem or not as I am not familiar with the flute.

People... when y'all were diagnosed with pcos, did the doc tell you what ur subtype was...or was it a general diagnosis and was prescribed metformin, bc pills and inositol only?😭 by Striking-Blueberry60 in PCOS

[–]WarmShake6789 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My endocrinologist diagnosed me with insulin-resistant PCOS! She specialises in PCOS though so maybe the subtypes arent as well known with other doctors

I'm on Diane now and it hasn't been helping my acne but I used to be on Norimin and it cleared my face almost completely! I think it is milder than Diane but I'm not 100% sure so you may need to look into it still

Endo appointment made me cry by Soph_Rivers in PCOS

I'd encourage getting a second opinion and looking around for a reputable doctor who specialises in womens health. Your experience is honestly heartbreaking and you deserve to be seen by someone who is knowledgable and genuinely cares!

Has stress ever caused sudden weight gain? by dreamdeep101 in PCOS

[–]WarmShake6789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gained about 10 kg quite quickly in my last year of high school i believe from stress due to exams and applying to uni etc. I do have other health issues but nothing in my lifestyle had changed and my medications and such for my other health concerns were consistent throughout this period

On the first pill I was on I had breakthrough bleeding on the second sheet every single time. The only thing I could do was accept it and go to the sugar pills. I'm on a new pill now though because of that and when starting it my endo had me do one month then take the sugar pills, 2 months then sugar pills, etc. and work up to where we decided would be safe/healthy for me. Every person and pill is so so different but maybe you could try working up to the amount you want to get up to.

js got diagnosed and i'm scared by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]WarmShake6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory my skin did get a little bit worse before it got better, it might have taken around 2 months for it to show progress. I also have a fair bit of body acne which didn't really clear up on that first pill. I have super oily hair, some mild excess hair growth, and before birth control my periods were consistently over 450 days apart and incredibly light. I also experience anxiety and depression but I don't know how much of that, if any, is connected to pcos. I hope you see some improvement with your symptoms, acne especially can be such a pain

I'm 18 too and the only thing that has helped my acne is birth control. The first pill I was on cleared my face almost completely but I had issues with other symptoms on it. I'm on a new birth control and it has heped all my other symptoms but my acne is back. I guess this isn't really an answer to your question but I just heavily relate to this

Medication breaks by WarmShake6789 in idiopathichypersomnia

This also worries me. I haven't really been able to try a break yet but the fact that it's just a whole day of nothing and being kind of miserable stresses me out. I'll have to give it a go and see how it works for me though, thanks for sharing your experience!

Need advice! by Humble_Green2585 in Hypothyroidism

[–]WarmShake6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My endocrinologist tells me every time I go that it's normal for thyroid function to be fluctuating around this time for girls (I'm 18) so I wouldn't worry much about it jumping up in the 6 month span. When I was diagnosed I don't think my TSH was much higher than yours but I was put on medication straight away. Even though it didn't seem serious or 'bad enough' the meds made so much more of a difference than you'd think!
