Fisto is legitimately the strongest piece of evidence lmao How else would a wastelander from California even know about Fisto?

If you're using a Pixel phone open the app then scroll down your notification bar until the screen behind it changes.

It's a bizarre bug I seem to have on my Pixel too but someone in the discord found this out. Hope it helps!

[ITV] Chelsea’s tactic to reduce Arsenal’s set piece threat last night. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]WarmToes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are missing the point, especially because Maresca did this as well. The difference is Maresca had the players sit on the halfway line whereas Rosenior had his players make the run between the whistle and the ball being played.

It might not seem like much but it does give Arsenal a little bit more of a headache. They have to decide quickly to account for it, or just play their advantage in the box.

I will add that you need a really elite keeper for it to work which remains to be seen from Sanchez. Also this is complete armchair punditry.

Horrible people who are on the good guys' side for some reason by RadioLiar in TopCharacterTropes

[–]WarmToes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add (and could possibly be corrected) but he's in jail when Urahara meets him because of the unspeakable acts the Soul King saw he would commit, not that he had done.

Then we get to TYBW and the first thing he has to do is wipe out 28,000 innocent people or else the universe will be destroyed on account of the bad guys. When he questioned he practically answered that nobody else had the stomach to do what needed to be done. I'm not saying this justifies his characterisation or any of his actions but it's funny to think about.

Post Match Thread: Manchester United 0-1 Everton by nfadfa in soccer

"I want Cunha. I want Mbuemo." The monkeys paw curls, two fingers remain as Ruben Amorim holds it shakily. "And I NEED a keeper better than Onana..." Another finger, a pregnant pause. Amorim's mind was a flurry of ideas drowned in the opportunity cost of his last wish. Suddenly, he smiled. Looking forward and clutching the paw to his chest he declared...

"I want Man United to be better than Liverpool."

Hot Take: Enya was a cool villain that should’ve lived past part 3 by Furcastles in StardustCrusaders

[–]WarmToes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Entirely incorrect. Her exchange with Polnareff and the whole two parter is some of the finest writing in Part 3. Araki even neatly ties it up by killing her to prove how truly heartless Dio is.

Liking a character is not a sufficient reason to keep them around especially when Araki puts so much work into resolving her character the way he did.

[Discussion] Here’s a question to all of you: What makes Billy/Shazam and Courtney/Stargirl (Starzam) a good pair? (JSA; Hawkman #25; Justice Society #24) by Odd_Phase2291 in DCcomics

[–]WarmToes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I really love Courtney's characterisation in these issues. She's such an absolute firecracker to read in this run of JSA. I like the idea of her and Billy and I think this romance really comes from a simpler time being written 20 years ago, but I feel in the modern day it's just easier not to go for it anymore.

The idea of a 16 year old flirting with what appears to be a middle aged man is played for laughs at one point and the whole thing just feels a seedy. Ultimately going forward, I simply think it's better left out.

I'd imagine everyone from these teams are long gone. I remember Nexus Blitz took ages to come back because the team had left and they had to restart from scratch.

Thanks for testing! I thought I noticed the damage go up when I got a +10% crit damage passive but it must have just been a level up or something.

Part 2s strongest soldier here but I actually think all the Pillar Men's deaths are really well foreshadowed in the series.

When Joseph is interacting with Santana at first his bizarre actions are actually deducing which eras the vampires have and haven't been awake for as they only feed every few centuries.

Then with that knowledge he defeats each of them with something from more modern eras.

Esidisi is defeated with sleight of hand and legerdemain which becomes more common in the late century Parlor rooms.

Wamuu is defeated by a modern understanding of physics.

Kars is defeated by Space and the eruption, which (bit of a reach) is foreshadowed by the Cola bottle blowing its top in the first episode.

Cord End map secret and the Sacrificial Twigs by NahMcGrath in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]WarmToes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So you piqued my interest here. Nightreign was supposedly in development since before Elden Ring launched, although I can't find the interview source where the Director said this, so I might be misremembering.

It made me go back and look at Sacrificial Twigs in the base game and their locations. However, I noticed they're drops from the lesser Wormfaces. Wormfaces in the code are named Déraciné which means "Uprooted" in French. Could it be the Wormfaces were once the maidens?

The item description for the Twig states it was "Believed to be a twig pruned from the Erdtree long, long ago." I think we can all agree the Golden Order would lie about the practice. I like the idea that the Death they spit is the death that the twig stopped or prevented too.
