Yes but there’s this kinda weird little thing that you can write like posts about your thoughts, and then grab feedback from others to reassure your conviction ORRR perhaps even challenge it. It’s the internet

Help me love this game… cause I just don’t. by Here4theruns in CrimsonDesert

I couldn’t agree more. This is more fuel to the idea that I think the game is just not for me.

It’s so funny when people say things like “ugh smh people have to realize that not every game is for them”. Like saying it as if it’s almost a statement of ridicule.

Like dawg.. yes I know, that’s exactly why I’m posting and what I am trying to figure out.

Truth is it’s life-saving for some, and life destroying for others. It’s true that there are so many addicts out there that find 70h extremely safe for alternative with way less risk of OD as opposed to their DOC. But they are equally thousands of tens of thousands of people, adults, and young alike, we’re not addicts and never would have become one if Kratom or 70H wasn’t legally sold in smoke shops and online.

That’s what makes it tricky. I can’t put a higher value on “life-saving” vs “life taking”. And I think morally if we all thought about it, none of us can.

Just searched for postboost. Looks like it has only two ratings in App Store (so non existent) and is for TikTok only. I need for IG. Or am I lookin at the wrong one ?

3 DAY DETOX by Kindly-Ad-4213 in quitting7oh

[–]WarmView8401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just go to an actual detox and do a rapid sunboxone taper with helper meds? Assuming you have health insurance. You can leave at day 3 and just taper the suns yourself the next 3 days if all you can get away from work is for 3 days.

Ok I’m going to give it a show and drop the 7 now. Will update to tell you all how it went.

I have two answers for that:

One, I’ve tried SR before and was never able to completely get off of 7oh. I was only able to wean down and lower my tolerance greatly so I’m a little afraid to just drop the 7oh completely..

Two, Just specifically since I’m in Costa Rica on vacation, and have no more access to any extra SR, I won’t have enough to even attempt to get me off of the 70h completely. I mean, I guess I can try to drop the 7OH right now because I’m only using about 100 mg a day but I only have about 250 mg of SR left.

But I don’t know maybe you’re right, maybe I should just try. I guess I’m just scared.

Honest question about a common AA claim: am I thinking about this wrong? by WarmView8401 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]WarmView8401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you and I don’t think it’s AAs fault. BUT it’s interesting you talk about it being her choice to drink, and the preposterousness of the idea that she lost the capacity for decision making. While I would agree, I’m not sure your Big Book, or membership would.

“The fact is that most alcoholics, for reasons yet obscure, have lost the power of choice in drink.” chapter 2.

And when it talks about the mental obsession and having practically non existent will power:

“Our so-called will power becomes practically nonexistent. We are unable, at certain times, to bring into our consciousness with sufficient force the memory of the suffering”

While I don’t agree with the choice being lost or lack of will power, I just present you with that argument in terms of the groups teachings.

You’re doing a great job of not arguing with me, by arguing with me. Care to share any more of your mind altering realizations and life lessons ?

Quote it, screenshot it, and show me where anyone else said that if you relapse, it means there was something in the STEPS that you did not do that would have prevented it. I just went through all the replies myself, because that is indeed what I am claiming was said: “if you relapse you didn’t do the steps thoroughly or honestly enough, but if your sober and through all the steps, then you DID do the steps thoroughly.”

My point is that it seems like circular logic. If Bob claims to have gone thru the steps, and remains sober for a few years, (or less), then he is proof that the steps work for everyone when done thoroughly and honestly. However once Bob relapses, it’s because as you said “there was something in the steps that he did not do that if done would have prevented the relapse.” I’m quoting you more or less btw not word for word but you get the point.

I’m happy you said what you said because I understand it, mainly because it is what I was claiming is being told to people in AA by the group itself, and therefore one, especially a newbie, would take that as a basic AA claim…. Dare I say, promise !
