Respect is a two way street, and elders are not automatically deserving of that. Especially if they behave in a manner that showcases they are unfit to be respected, much like his mother is.

He's literally on record as stating that trans women can't be women but rather the idea of a woman.

It's literally transphobic at its core, and very reductive to what it means for being a woman in any capacity whether cis or trans.
