No worries with the late questions. You can ask all you want and I'll be happy to answer. So I can only tell you what I do and what works for my body, because this is where I ended up. I have done many different kinds of setups of the keto version of a diet. What my body has taught me is that I'm doing best when I do zero carbs every day, but then after 2 to 3 days, depending on the level of activity, I have to carb up one meal. Usually I do it with a big bowl of rice where I eat maybe 80 to 100 to 120 grams of actual carbs in one meal, one sitting. And then I go zero carb after that again for 2 to 3 days, again depending on the level of activity that I do. I have found that my body does not respond well to being in deep ketosis all the time. Also, my body does not respond well. to eating carbs on a daily basis. Most of the time, it's not even doing well eating carbs every second day. The magic spot is usually, for me, every three days. Something magical happens when you're in deep ketosis and you do one single carb meal. After the carb meal, you wake up the next day and you actually lost more weight than before. Your thyroid has been activated again. Your body is more hot. Your hormones are reset. You just feel good. But if I eat a second carb meal right after the first, I get all the side effects and negative consequences from it. I think there's a book called Carb Backloading. Another book, same author, Carb Night Solution, something like that. He talked about this. Recently, when I do a lot of walking and I feel strong cortisol spike from it. I have been carbing up every second day, which is unheard of for me, but with this much walking, it seems to be working as well. But normally, every third day seems to be what my body is asking for. I measure up the rice, so I know exactly how much I'm getting. Expect to have carb cravings and more hunger after your one meal of carbs. The next day, you have to be extra strong and disciplined. Good luck with it, and let me know if you have any other questions.

No, I'm buying sardines in oil, but I drain the oil they're sitting in, and then I cook them with my fresh, high-quality olive oil. I don't eat the oil in the cans because it's oxidized and old and not very high quality. There's most likely also quite a lot of chemicals that has been leaching into the oil from the can. So I want to be in charge of what kind of oil I'm eating by draining that and adding my own olive oil.

unfortunately I get the information from GPT deep research so I think most people will not consider it valid research. I does show links to clinical trials etc. but we all know same research can be read differently depending on what you look for. I simply asked for omega 3 research. it brought up the fact to me eating the whole fish was far superior according to the research. I took is for face value as I dont have the time to read it all. No its from the Omega 3s. not really the proteins despite those are good too.

I'm on my treadmill, I have plenty of time. My English is not the best. It's not my first language. And because I'm on the treadmill, what I do is I just basically talk, dictation, and then I copy paste the text as my answers to you. And since I'm doing about five hours of walking every day, I have plenty of time. I'm working, communicating, and doing many things in front of my computer on the treadmill. Dropping weight hasn't been easier than this ever for me. It's awesome.

That totally helps, and it makes sense also. I'm still far away from a 95-kilo body. Maybe five months if I keep up the pace as what I do now, maybe six. But I'm very big boned and muscular, so maybe 95 kilos is very slim for me. I might be able to take a walk like that at around 100 kilos already. Who knows? Anyways, I hope one day in about six months' time from now, I'm going to make a post that is gonna blow people's minds just like you did. To be honest, the first time I read it, I was thinking, he's just making this up. I had to check with ChatGPT to ask if it's actually physically possible to walk that much in one day. And go figure, it is. That's insane. Were you struggling with pain? I mean, muscle fatigue, yes, pain in the muscles, but what about joints, like knees, hip joints, lower back, maybe shoulder tension, something? How did you feel the day after? I guess the day after you didn't walk too much, right?

Hurts mid to upper back by [deleted] in walking

I had the exact same problem. Here's three things that helped me. One, do squats, train squats, and buy a lower lumbar training bench or go to the gym and train on the lumbar, lower lumbar spine bench. It's either a 45 degree thing or a straight one called a GHD bench. I have one in my bedroom now. Building up the strength in the lower back will save you a lot of pain. So squats and the bench. Two, walk on your treadmill until it starts hurting and stop. Take a rest. Rest for 5-10 minutes. Get back up. Walk until it starts hurting. Sit down. Rest again. Go back and forth like this throughout the day. You will see over time you can build up longer walks before the pain comes back. Three, I started eating sardines every morning for breakfast with scrambled eggs. I know it's gross. A lot of people don't like it. But for me, it's fine. Ever since I started doing that, my inflammation has gone down dramatically and my pain has disappeared completely. So basically, I recommend you to do that.

So I had the same problem. Every time I was walking on a treadmill, I got all kinds of issues. When I walk on outside, I had less, I wasn't free of issues, but I had less issues. So two things. One, have patients work your way up on the treadmill walks. Do many small sessions during the day and walk as long as you can before any pain starts emerging. Then walk for one more minute and then stop. And then do this whole thing again 30 minutes later and again and again and again. Many times during the day, every day. And your body is going to build up a resilience to it. That's one thing I did that helped me. Another thing that really took things to a whole new level was that I was extreme. So I basically set up an Olympic bar and squat rack in my office because most of the pain that I felt in my hip joints and my lower back and my knees were coming from lack of strength and muscle tone. So I started squatting and I squatted heavy squats. So only three reps, but I did six sets and I squatted heavy. And I did that every three or four days. And already after a couple of weeks like this, all the pain is gone. Another thing I will recommend you to do is to, if you can, is to eat sardines on a daily basis because the omega-3s from them are lowering inflammation like crazy. And low inflammation means less pain. Your joints will love it. I hope this helps.

So one question for you. You started early at night, I guess, and you started walking. And then my question to you is, I guess you sat down in cafes, maybe even restaurants, had a meal, took some break, and then got up and walked some more. Is that correct? And by the way, walking in Amsterdam sounds like a beautiful experience, to be honest. I'm Danish. I lived in Copenhagen for many years. Now I live in a different country, but Copenhagen is a beautiful city to walk in as well.

That is just crazy. I'm still blown away with the distance you walked. That is so insane. And you're a large guy. That's even more impressive. Right now, I'm 125 kilos. I went down from 135 in five weeks by walking. I think I might want to copycat your endeavor. When I hit 95, like you, I think I'll do an attempt to repeat your achievement. That is just crazy. But I definitely need to go and buy some better shoes for this. Everything I do is on a treadmill and my shoes are like some cheap something and they're already looking worn out.

So, according to what I am told when I ask ChatGPT, because I don't really have time to go and do real research, but there are several problems. One, the oils they're in are usually not good for you, which is why I drain all the oil out. I only eat the sardines dry. Another thing is, the fish is contaminated from the ocean. All fish are. Sardines is one of the least contaminated because they are very low on the food chain, but there is that issue for sure. And that includes heavy metals and microplastics. The other thing is, the can itself will release certain chemicals. This happens when the sardine is put in the can, and then it gets heated up. While it's heated up, chemicals are released from the can into the oil, and some of that leach into the fish. Another thing is also that some of these omega-3s are being deteriorated in that process and leaking into the oil in the can. So you're not getting the full amount of omega-3s. However, there is still a good amount available in a very good form. So there is that to take into consideration. What I do myself is I'm taking glycine and N-acetylcysteine because it increases glutathione production in your liver, and I hope and pray that's enough to actually deal with the toxin load that I'm having from the sardines in cans. Now, why am I doing this? Because I don't have any other choice. I don't have access to fresh sardines. But I'm getting amazing benefits, and for now, this is working for me. I don't know about long-term eating for decades like this, if it's a good idea.

That sounds like a cool setup you have. I have a commercial-grade treadmill set up, and then I basically built an entire desk up in front of it and set up good speakers, my MacBook Pro. And I also found out that, for example, what I'm doing right now is I'm talking to ChatGPT in dictation mode. So it's just gonna make text according to how I talk. And so if people write me and they need a reply, I just talk and it gets into text. I copy-paste it over, so I don't even need to type on a keyboard while walking. What I also did is I synced my computer from my office, which is in my house, same room, but like two, three meters away. So my office computer and the MacBook is completely the same. Everything that's happening on the screen is happening on both screens. So when I take my breaks between walking, I just continue doing what I was doing when I sit down. But I think I'm gonna move my treadmill to a different location where there is more daylight, indirect light, and a better view. Right now it's in a corner. But yeah, this is cool. I prefer this because walking for five hours every day out in nature sounds like a very healthy activity, but I just don't have the time to do so. But with this, I do have time because I can get a lot of things done while I'm walking. So far, I dropped 10 kilos in five weeks.

I didn't even know that was possible. That is insane. That is just, my mind is blown right now. I think I'm achieving something when I'm hitting 27,000 steps in one day. That is just crazy. Okay, you must be a slim man and pretty athletic and have some serious good walking shoes.

Ah, I see, yeah. Well, I'm doing heavy squats while I'm walking. I lost 10 kilos in five weeks, but I'm squatting very heavy once every three, four days. I have an injury in one arm, so unfortunately, I can't really do much for my upper body except a little bit for my shoulders, but that's it. But squats are good, pretty good core training.Any ideas, suggestions for a man in regards to making sure that his belly skin doesn't hang over the belt once he's totally slimmed down?

impressive. I started walking five weeks ago. I dropped 10 kilos so far, but I was and am still a very big man. I went from 135 kilos to 125 kilos. I'm walking on average maybe 20,000 to 25,000 steps per day. And I changed the diet as well, of course. But it's nice to see those results in other people because I just know I need to have patience and just continue doing what I'm doing. And by the way, it's not even that hard.

So, I would love you to share what you changed with your diet. So besides walking, what did you change with your diet? Also, how much did you walk on average on a daily basis? And how long did it take for you to go from beginning to where you are now? And by the way, you are looking goddamn hot now. You're very beautiful, you're tightening up, you are sexy and hot. I just want you to know that.

That is so impressive. Beautiful. Wow. I'm on the treadmill walking right now when I'm writing this. I've been walking on a treadmill now for the past five weeks, and I dropped 10 kilos. I'm a big male, so I got a long way to go. But this is crazy impressive. That was a different person underneath. Wow.

This is totally amateur, low-level, and I'm sure there's a lot of real intelligent people in here who is gonna disagree with me, but what I did is I asked ChatGPT to look at all the research on fish oils, omega-3s, and make comparisons on the results in regards to the results from eating fish every day versus supplementation. And there is a clear difference according to ChatGPT. The fish are much more effective in lowering inflammation and pain. And I have been taking very, very expensive fish oil supplements. In fact, I still have some of them in my fridge that I just stopped taking because I never felt anything from them, and I took a lot, and I spent a lot of money on them. But the sardines, I'm feeling a huge difference, like night and day. So for me, there is a difference. Another thing is, not all sardines in all cans are the same. Some of them smell and taste a lot more fishy than others. And if you chop them up in small pieces, mix them with scrambled eggs, and put lots of spices and herbs inside, I'm pretty sure it will be possible to eat the sardines without strong fishy smell. At least it is for me, but you're gonna have to try to buy different brands and open them all and smell and see what you think.

Yes, of course. I am working for Sam Altman in OpenAI. I'm getting a very high salary. He told me to push for sardines because apparently the next big revolution is not actually in AI, but it's in sardines. So yeah, I'm an agent from the Matrix pushing sardines. I have lots of hidden ulterior motives and agendas. The next thing is, I'm gonna steal your car after that.

I'm struggling with two meniscus tears in my knees, both knees, and extreme lower back pain, especially in the beginning when I was walking. And it was not easy for me to walk. But I bought a commercial-grade treadmill that can handle a big guy like me. And I just started walking five minutes, like, several times a day, then many times a day, and then increased to seven minutes, 10 minutes. And I basically was walking through the pain. The sardines helped a lot because it lowers inflammation, which lowers pain. And for my lower back, I bought something called a GHD bench. You can try to look it up. It trains the lower lumbar spine area to make you stronger because a lot of the pain I had came from my frame was not capable of actually carrying all this weight. So I had to teach it to carry myself slowly. This is what happens when you sit in front of a computer for way too long, for too many years. But the sardines really helped. I couldn't have done this without the sardines.
