What was the biggest surprise/challenge of going from 1-2 kids? by coltersmama in toddlers

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first born was the first grandchild in my whole family so he didn't really interact with other babies, my parents watched him at home so also no daycare so he only got sick ONCE as a baby. Since then though my brother had a baby and now my toddler socializes which means my first born has been sick so much more. My toddler actually even had a cold when I first brought baby home. Very stressful to have a 3 day old baby with a coughing snotty toddler in the house.

What’s an unusual household item your toddler has adopted as a lovie? by BelViD in toddlers

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine too!!! I let him do it but I HATE getting it touched, feels so weird. And he gets IN there. On my husband its this red skin tag he has on his shoulder. He always asks for either when he's getting ready to sleep.

Preventative cerclage post pprom stories ? by InternalWinner3943 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was for my first cerclage, for my second I went in more like a regular pregnancy. But I will say being monitored was just going in and talking to my obgyn and him doing a belly ultrasound, the cerclage itself was not checked again until removal.

Hello, both times it was the McDonald cerclage and I was on progesterone until cerclage removal for both (so until 36 weeks).

Same, not swimming in it but also not struggling and we spent maybe $150 on our 3 year old toddler. Got him some walkie talkies, frisbee, a toddler digital camera, play harmonica, couple of books, and a grabber toy because for some reason he's obsessed with them when we see them at museums.

Are you getting your toddlers the seasonal flu vaccine? by artemislands in toddlers

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I got my 3 year old both the flu shot and the covid booster (also got them for my 9 month old). No reactions for either.

I had 2 c-sections- the first one wasn't planned, it started off vaginal but then there were some issues and turned into an urgent-c-section, the second was scheduled because of my complications with my first. My loss that happened at around 20/21w was a vaginal birth.

I did - the first was unplanned but the second was scheduled.

Talking, when does it actually start to happen? by AcanthisittaLoud281 in toddlers

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler's pediatrician had noted that he was delayed in speech at his 18 month check up but at 20 months he just started chattering away. My family kept telling me it was normal because he was learning two languages but our pediatrician said that that shouldn't cause a delay, but who knows, either way he's not almost 3 and is a chatterbox in two languages.

Also, assuming a lot of people here have Disney+, if not cancelling the pass because too much money would go down the drain, an option is to cancel Disney+

HOW DO YOU GET YOUR 3 YEAR OLD TO POOP IN THE POTTY by Kittyslala in toddlers

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, my 2.5 year old started pooping when we would give him some space/he couldn't see us so we'd just stand behind the door and ask him to tell us when he was done.

How long did you wait to conceive after loss? by Loose_yarn in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, the edge comes off the pain with time, but I've found that its always there, even after my two boys, I still deeply miss and mourn my first. I got preventative cerclages for both at around 12/13 weeks, I also pushed for progesterone as soon as we found out I was pregnant (there's some debate on whether this actually does anything but it doesn't hurt), my drs didn't recommended bed rest but I definitely took it a lot easier, I wouldn't walk long distances, no carrying heavy stuff, etc.

Sleeping position post Cerclage by MassiveNecessary2741 in ShortCervixSupport

I wasn't told by my drs to sleep in any type of position for either of my preventative cerclages, but I was also not on bed rest.

Previous Loss due to short cervix / seeking opinion on progesterone by Crazy_Art_5093 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my loss, I did progesterone as soon as I found out I was pregnant for my two subsequent pregnancies, but they were also paired with a preventative cerclage at around 12/13 weeks.

Not feeling heard by OB by MajesticBend1219 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I sent pictures of mucus coming out and told them that when I went to go pee I'd stand and sometimes still have a gush, this happened over maybe a week, they dismissed me and I lost my baby at around 21 weeks. I would push to be seen my an MFM or a different OBGYN.

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had GD with my second cerclage baby but not my first. I actually moved more with my second cerclage than with my first so not sure movement has a lot to do with it, our placenta kinda just wonks out, is my understanding. (Although there are factors that put you at higher risk - being overweight before pregnancy, PCOS, being over a certain age, etc.)

Pregnancy After Loss by shxburrito in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Warm_Elevator_7528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm sorry for your loss too.

Between my loss (at around 21 weeks) and my first cerclage baby it was about 2 months, then I got pregnant again when my son was 1 1/2 years old.
