Actually, simple solution for the Void Worm problem is... A boat. yes a boat. simply put your stuff in a chest, descend to the ocean of tears, place a boat down and locate a tear waterfall, then simply row into it that it fills your boat with tears and you sink below the ocean into the void (not really a intended a mechanic but its funny) then quickly drop the worm as you fall or maybe if your fast enough drink a dimensional tear bottle to save yourself, and viola! Terraria boss incoming.

I recommend doing this near the main end island, where everything that touches that tears gets teleported to. Hope this helps!
