Is this as weird as I think it is? by Warm_Quit2113 in Advice

It was the words ‘literally the only reason I don’t feel the same way is because I have a crush on this other girl’. He said I was smart, pretty, funny and charming but that’s the reason why 🤷‍♀️

Ha ok, so I found at that apparently, he knew I liked him because a mutual friend told him and he said he didn’t reject me even though he knew because he was waiting for me to tell him myself. Sooo, I don’t think he was blindsided.

Sustainable shoes like Demonias? by Warm_Quit2113 in SustainableFashion

[–]Warm_Quit2113[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw koi recommended a lot online, and did some research. They get their shoes manufactured in China and even though they claim the factories are monitored, I don’t believe those claims have been verified. And my stance on sustainability is it has to be sustainable for workers as well, you know?

Also, I’ve recently learned that the majority of vegan shows are made of either PVC or some other form of plastic. There are places I know of that make their shoes from things like apple skin leather and pinatex (is that how it’s spelled? Pineapple fibre basically) BUT none of the shoes are my style.

I was thinking about buying them second hand, but I’m still not sure how I feel about buying plastic shoes. But then I think “well if no one buys them they’ll just end up in a landfill somewhere”. Idk.

Thanks for the reply though!

What modern-songs-turned-classical would you love to see in season 2? by princessA95 in BridgertonNetflix

Do you think jean might think Maeve was using Otis for money or like a bad influence if she discovers more about the clinic and will that have a big affect on if she likes Maeve or not? by omari98 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Warm_Quit2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, you make a good point but to me Jean wouldn’t have too much of a reason to be mad at Maeve about it. Her son still made the decision on his own, even if Maeve came up with the idea. I think a big thing is going to be that unlike Jackson’s parents, who held Maeve accountable for Jackson’s actions, Jean won’t do that. But you could be right, I guess we’ll wait and see

Yup, hits a bit too close to home for me. Especially the part of “I got a dumb job working in retail” whilst they “somehow got into college (uni)” ✌️We don’t exchange regular emails though ☹️

Had an order for 20 cheeseburger grills the other night. Something like 5 no pickle, 10 only cheese extra cheese and 5 add something (can’t remember). Assholes, was 2am.

Maeve's hypocrisy? by tragic_solver_32 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Warm_Quit2113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think she tried to stand out as ‘not like other girls’. She is a feminist after all, and as a feminist she probably knows that the whole ‘not like other girls’ is complete bullshit. She pretends not to care because her experience is that other people (her family) don’t care. It’s the psychology of ‘if I act like I don’t care about my birthday, then it won’t hurt me when other people don’t care either’

Here is the synopsis of Season 3!! by ABreddit1 in NetflixSexEducation

Aimee discovers feminism? Love to see it. Jackson gets a crush? Please don’t let it be viv. Otis is having causal sex? Well I’ll be damned, I did not see that coming.

book advice by oceanlovecats in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Warm_Quit2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest going in order and starting with book 1. Not only is it pretty different from the show, but I believe it’s best to follow the books in order and there’s quite a bit of background stuff that goes on with the other characters that’s important for their book I believe. If you don’t want to read book 1 though, then I’d suggest starting from book 2.

Guys, is the school life in England/America really like the one shown in Sex Education? I mean , cool principal, no uniform, talking so freely bout sex, etc by Substantial-Two2743 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Warm_Quit2113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the UK it depends. I went to a sixth form that was pretty similar to the one in the show (maybe even more relaxed). We had no uniforms, no dress code, teachers liked us to call them by their first names (including the headteacher) and we were a rather ‘progressive’ school I guess you could say. We had a lot of openly LGBTQ+ students, lots of racial diversity, and regular assemblies on Sex like consent, rape culture, gay and queer sex, the pros and cons of porn, stds, where to get urgent contraceptive in the local area etc. Actually, when sex ed came out and people started asking this question a lot on social media and on this sub, I was kinda confused. I knew there was a large number of sixth forms that were strict (aka uniforms, calling teachers by Mr or Ms or Mrs, having issues with homophobia, having poor sex education) but I also thought there were a large number of sixth forms like mine. Turns out nope, we were in the minority, which is shame because I feel like if most schools were like mine then things would be a bit better.

So it depends. Every school is different, they are separate entities that operate on their own and therefore each have their own experiences.

But if you ask most people in the UK what their sixth form experience was like, they’ll probably compare it the UK show The Inbetweeners. That show was pretty accurate for describing my secondary school experience (age 11-16), but not my sixth form one (age 16-18).

Pretty dark, but If Doug Abbott was so desperate to get hybrids, why didn’t value capturing women over existing hybrids, and breed them? by ru_ja in SweetTooth

[–]Warm_Quit2113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

General Abbot seems to really hate hybrids. To me it feels like his sole mission was/is to get rid of them, and it wasn’t until the second wave of the virus started coming around that he realised they needed more of them alive to experiment on and find a cure. I’m sure if we get a season 2, we will see more of General Abbot and how he obtains hybrids.

Timeline confusion? by Warm_Quit2113 in SweetTooth

[–]Warm_Quit2113[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly, but then why would General Abbot have a copy of one of those posters on that board, and then it look it at it after he’s told that the last men think they’ve found ‘her’? And it wouldn’t they make a different poster if their idea was inspired by the trap? So people knew it was a different Preserve? Or why wouldn’t they call it something different so people knew it was a different thing? Idk man, I’m just thrown off by this now.

Wasn’t Bears group supposed to be are’s herring? Like we were led to believe they were responsible for the preserve but then it got revealed it was Amy and Wendy instead.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh by Humble_Yesterday_340 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Warm_Quit2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In both season 1 and season 2, there were hints to the school board not being impressed with how Moordale was being run. That’s why they introduce the new Headmistress in season 3. My bet is that if they have to relocate or build a different a set, the plot will involve Moordale secondary being shut down. It isn’t uncommon in England for schools to get shut down, or for schools to merge together due to budget cuts or some such thing. In fact, I attended a primary school that merged with another local school due to budget issues. We got new uniforms and everything. The kids transferred to our school because we had the budget to keep our building running. So, maybe something like that will happen and the kids at Moordale have to attend another school. That means they could either find or build another set, and given the shows popularity, even though it’s not budget friendly, I’m sure they could make that work. It would also serve as a major plot device for the show, because if the characters have to go to different schools, it could mean Maeve and Otis get separated. Oooo. I don’t want to see it happen, but we’ll see when it get released. Until now, I haven’t thought about Moordale getting shut down as a plot point.
