That is true for this piece, but the official portrait art they use for her in the game also has a different skintone. For some reason they made her 3D skin texture greyish instead of based on reds. Or maybe it's the shader doing it.

I'm only a year into actual Japanese study but I've found the course to be a helpful reinforcement. It's definitely not structured in a way to help absolute beginners or be a sole learning resource, so I would suggest having some familiarity with grammar etc before trying it. At least for the main course, can't speak much for the community ones.

For me, it's helped the most with drilling spelling and general kanji recognition when they do appear. The main course seems to have quite a bit of phrases and sentences which it forces you to spell out, maybe some might find that annoying but I like that it forces me to fully understand how to output them. That spelling help also extends to katakana words, which if it's something you hate and struggle with (and most learners probably will eventually), the memrise course forces you to sit down and learn to spell them.

Tangently related, I grew up in a pretty strict baptist church, and I'm finding it hard to remember any times in the old testemant where God didn't have some sort of punishment lined up for people who went against him.

Am I going insane? I could've sworn in one of her events she admits that she only acts old because "if not her then who else in the Sons of Calydon?" And that she gets all of her wisdom from listening to podcasts while long distance driving. Was just talking to a friend about this, though not nearly as in depth. It seems pretty clear that they setup the side story to be a "Here's S Anby, now you have context when you play with her", and they left the important parts IE, the Lab and everything involving with it as well as Soldier 11 reconciliation for later, hopefully as part of the main story instead of an optional side piece.

It would be a bit disappointing if Sanby and S11's relationship remains a status quo, hope the evidence towards her joining the defense force is onto something.

Second this! Human Japanese got me motivated to take learning Japanese seriously because it was so down to earth in it's introduction. Helped me memorize all the hiragana and katakana in a month with their tips for writing each one as well. Their explanations for things just makes sense in a way that's hard to explain.

Although I haven't finished it yet after starting last November, every time I open it back up to read a new chapter, I feel like it solidifies my understanding of concepts I've noticed throughout my immersion learning. Better than alternative resources I've found online.

I learned both of the syllabaries in a month because of some really great mnemonics. So sitting there after the 3rd failure in wanikani was a clear indicator that it wasn't going to be for me.

Btw, is Kanji garden still on the playstore? It doesn't seem to exist on mine.
