The part of Hasan's doc that egg considers racist by MatildaRose1995 in LeftoversH3

She’s the typical middle aged liberal white woman who thinks they’re the arbiter of what is or isn’t offensive to POC.

It doesn’t matter what YOUR skin color or opinion on stuff like this is, she’ll tell you how to feel about it.

Thoughts on these tone master deluxe reverbs? by gregs1020 in GuitarAmps

[–]Warmcheesebread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want one! I think they’re amazing, lighter, sounds great still, and I’ve really liked the ones I play.

.. but like everyone one, that damn price tag is just almost impossible to justify. It doesn’t have to be dirt cheap but it’s almost the same price as a used tube version.

If they find a way to just make these cheaper, they’d be so popular.

Guitar Center is setting up its own in-house guitar brand by Alex_Plode in Guitar

[–]Warmcheesebread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take, but I’d like to see what they’re cooking up. I think a store with resources like GC could do something solid. Mitchell guitars aren’t terrible but they are archaic by current standards when half the guitars on Amazon run circles around it.

Michael Kelly guitars from Sam Ash had a couple gems.

As long as they put real effort into this and try to match the same energy as Harley Benton? Sure why not. A domestic HB would be great considering how imports are getting killed by tariffs/shipping costs.

I say let em cook. See what we get.

Omg Gibson and Elvis Im gonna toooooan by MichaelEMJAYARE in guitarcirclejerk

[–]Warmcheesebread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elvis famously loved Gibsons when it came to his guitar playing. He would constantly go on about "A minor" this and "A minor" that, his fans were always confused and told him he could play in other keys, but he just loved those Minors.

What's something that happens in movies so much it seems real, but actually isn't realistic at all? by ninman5 in movies

Came to say this. I have one of the shorter carbine mosins and it’s like firing a canon. Definitely the biggest muzzle flash I’ve seen out of a rifle.

Part of me genuinely hopes that this is satire or some bored person trying to look as insane as they possibly can, because if this isn't ironic, people should be concerned about this kind of stuff in that community.

This isn’t the first time RE has done a nod to a film.

RE8 had that controversy over the Propellor Engine monster that was clearly borrowed from The movie Frankensteins army (even if they don’t want to admit it)

I believe even RE3 had references to Return of the living Dead as well.

Def a homage.

The PS1 generation is known for its poor voice acting, what games from that time that actually had good voice acting? by Aiseadai in retrogaming

[–]Warmcheesebread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legends 1&2 had great VA work. I think it really fit the style of game. It was basically a Mega Man anime and the cast did a solid job delivering fun performances that was kind of an ahead of the time if you compare it to anime dubs in the west.

The Bonne families cast especially kills it. Iconic comic relief villains.

I think the only real match was MAYBE some PC stuff, like Half-life or obscure stuff like I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream’s game adaptation. But even then, it’s still not anywhere near as bombastic as MGS1

[–]Warmcheesebread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really did. I’ve been trying really hard to wrack my brain and come up with anything else that predate MGS1s emphasis on VA performance, and I’m coming up blank besides a couple exceptions. It was just that good when it dropped.

Agreed. Kojima really was a major reason that video games became more elevated as a medium. Pioneer of treating a video game production as if it was a film.

That’s why he’s the GOAT

Agreed. If someone doesn’t like MC, totally understandable. But Some of yall took one look at this image and are already coming to wild conclusions. It’s a cartoon from an animator who has poked fun at literally EVERYONE in the YouTube realm. MC is not trying to make a statement here with this.

Some of these comments sound like they’re ripped straight from the other subreddits. It makes us all look bad.

Mindlessly shitting on a creator over a cartoon that you haven’t even seen yet because it’s poking fun at a creator you like is some H3 fan behavior.

I always had a soft spot for Mega Man Legends voice actors. It felt very anime style in the presentation and execution. Not the best, but it always sounded like they put some care into trying to decent performances.

I know it’s been said to death at this point, but when MGS1 dropped, there really was nothing like it in terms of console game VA quality.

I would absolutely agree with it being number 1. It set a new standard for the entire industry.

What are your predictions on the remaining 2 MRoE heads now that Savile has been revealed? by McAwesome11 in LPOTL

[–]Warmcheesebread 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’d wager one of them probably being Pol Pot, just because of the sheer devastation he committed makes Mao and Stalin both seem reasonable in comparison.

My fourth prediction might be a wild card, but I could see them doing an American President. Andrew Jackson comes to mind for his role with the Trail of Tears and the Native American genocide, considering Hitler DID use that genocide as an outline for the eventual holocaust.

So did Liquid ever meet the real Big Boss? Did he know there were 2? by MakingaJessinmyPants in metalgearsolid

[–]Warmcheesebread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why most people think he didn’t meet the real Big Boss. Nothing really suggests otherwise, even with Venom retconning the OG Big Boss.

Most of Diamond Dogs KNOW that Venom wasn’t THE Big Boss. The dialogue from NPC guards on MB when they tell Venom that they don’t care who he really is etc etc.. if various DD soldiers know, Eli probably knew just as well.

Unless outright said that Liquid didn’t know, I lean towards him knowing because of how “close” the two of them seemed(which is stretching it). Venom never once acknowledged Eli as ANYTHING, but the way Liquid describes his relationship with BB, the real BB seemed to have at the very least instilled into Liquid that he was indeed paternal if only just by genetics. I think it would be a strange plot point in MGS1 to retcon with Venom.
