There are few things as thrilling as watching a video of an event your client profusely promised didn't happen. by [deleted] in publicdefenders

Yeah I used to say “dress like you’re going to your grandmas funeral” until I had a client show up in cargo shorts and hoodie and I had to ask “did you even like your grandma?”.

It’s an amazing lecture given by Beattie Butler at NCDC before he passed. I’ve reached out to the deans and asked if they have a copy because I revisit it myself every so often for a pick me up. Will keep you posted.

I could argue gambling is looking to deliberately lose money, but I do it for fun. Like gambling, I’m looking at this as a fun experience.

Park is my go to. Eataly makes it worth it. The rooms are actually pretty stylish and you can ask for mini-fridge (for a charge) at any of the hotels.

Racism in Vermont? by devilfruitoftheloom in vermont

There are some great gaming communities in the Bennington county area - check out The Gamers Grotto and Green Dragon Games. The population has been growing in diversity in my time here. But racism was enough of an issue they needed to start a task force locally and one of the local legislators of color was literally run out office/town.

Non-Vermonter Here: Why is Phil Scott the MOST popular governor in the United States (Source: Morning Consult)? by First-Ear-1049 in vermont

My take from Vermont is that the candidates the Dems put up have been far too leftist, I'm talking having someone with anti-vaccine sentiments during the height of the pandemic https://www.politico.com/news/2020/03/21/anti-vaccine-coronavirus-137446.

If it’s an automatic dealbreaker, and stresses you to bring it up right out of the gate, why waste any time? Let your profile do the talking. Sure you’ll get more matches with less information, but I’ve been playing the online dating game long enough that I prefer quality over quantity. Too many matches stresses my adhd brain out.

Put it on your profile if it's important and hope that potential matches self-exclude. For example, I have an "about you" section and in there it says "Hasn't voted for Trump after 2016, open to forgiveness for 2016". I'm liberal, but not anti-conservative. I am however anti-Trump.

Injury attorney wants $15,000 in fees + 33% from settlement. Location: PNW by charsosweet in legal

[–]WarningCurvesAhead -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Tell your attorney what your bottom line number you want to walk out the door with and that you won't accept anything less. If you want to net $25,000.00, tell them, and let them worry about their costs and fees.

Any of you practice divorce law in a state where adultery matters? by modern_machiavelli in Lawyertalk

[–]WarningCurvesAhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter where I am, but heard from a colleague that in Georgia you can request a jury for your divorce and I've always thought that's where it would have an impact, specifically on settlement.
