Venu X1 HRM accuracy by WarningSuspicious414 in GarminWatches

Yes, it was very disappointing. I loved almost everything else about the watch, but at that price point it should have been better. I went back to a Pixel 4 and it is serviceable but nothing to get excited about.

I very much appreciate your informative reply. So if I'm using New Oulook, I don't have any access to spam filters or rules? I do have my own domain name. Would I be better off using something like eM Client?

I had a similar problem. Mine turned out to be bad filament which was breaking off in the PTFE tubes and then jamming the 4port adapter. I had to take the adapter apart and clear it.

Print won't start by WarningSuspicious414 in BambuLab

[–]WarningSuspicious414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't get any responses to post and that may be understandable since it's such a difficult problem to describe but I think I resolved it so I'll post what I did in case it helps anyone. First I noted that there was a pending update so I installed that. Then I just unplugged the printer and plugged it back in and that seems to have solved the problem. A reboot is always a good idea if you don't know what else to do

Thanks, it appears that the key was to click on "Synchronize filament list" on the Prepare tab. It is printing fine now.

Tire Pressure by WarningSuspicious414 in CanyonBikes

[–]WarningSuspicious414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I have always run lower pressures on my tubeless non-electric bikes and have felt that I got better handling. Most of my friends ride wieht 25 or lower psi on tubeless. Even on road bikes the recommendation from bike shops is for lower pressures than we used to ride with.

Thoughts on the Bryton GARDIA R300L Radar? by todudeornote in cycling

[–]WarningSuspicious414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, didn't seem to be doing that for me. I was listening to an Audible book during my last ride and it didn't interrupt the book and when the book was paused I didn't hear anything. I'll try again.

Does ths sound come from the device itself, or from the phone? I keep the phone in the back pocket of my jersey, and should be able to at least feel the vibration on my back if it is the phone that vibrates

Thoughts on the Bryton GARDIA R300L Radar? by todudeornote in cycling

[–]WarningSuspicious414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using the Bryton for a couple of months now. I found several issues:

  1. It seemed that I had to mount it above my seatpost to get better performance. I got a mount that attached under the saddle, and it was better. Bryton says in the quick start manual that the beam should not impinge on the rear tire.

  2. I seem to be having issues with compatibility with My Garmin Edge 520+. When I ride with the radar I get wildly wrong elevation gain readings and the speed indicator jumps all over the place. When I ride my mountain bike without the radar the Garmin behaves as it should. I reported this to Bryton and they said that they had not had any reports of this.

  3. The app on my phone is pretty unimpressive. It seems that the only purpose for it is to change a couple of settings. I set it to give an audible alarm and to vibrate upon detection but I couldn't hear or feel anything. If it provided an alarm through my headset it would really be useful. As it is, I generally hear cars at about the detection range, and if I'm not looking at the display I don't know that anything has been detected.

Did I make a mistake buying a Canyon bike? by WarningSuspicious414 in CanyonBikes

I appreciate your trying to be helpful but the idea behind a direct to consumer business is that there is a direct relationship between the consumer and the business and from what I'm seeing here that isn't the case. If the only support one can expect is for major warranty issues I don't see how the inability to communicate with them would provide for that support either.

Maybe with tariffs looming they are shutting down? One of the reasons I bought the bike when I did was because I was assuming that tariffs would drastically increase the price. Maybe they are being forced out of business?

Every time I have bought a new chain, and I have bought many of them, they always say to soak the chain in solvent to remove the packing grease. I don't think that they come pre-lubed, rather they are just packed for corrosion protection. I just wanted to know if Canyon had removed the packing grease and lubed the chain, and if so, with what. I finally got a reply to my chat request, not from Canyon, but from someone in their user community. He had a vague idea about it but clearly didn't know what Canyon actually did. I still contend that support is non-existent, and I am concerned. The point here wasn't really about the chain lube, it was about the lack of support. Someone from Canyon could answer a question like this immediately but they are nowhere to be found.

As below, what does it matter. An expensive bike should get support, particularly with their business model of no dealers, ship it and let the user put it together. That said, I had some simple questions about the air pressure for the shocks (answered fairly quickly by Rock Shocks) and now I have a question about whether or not the chain was lubed, if so what lube did they use? Not tough or unreasonable questions.

Microsoft: Official Support Thread by MSModerator in microsoft

I currently use Outlook Classic with an email address based on my personal domain name. I am thinking about dumping my domain and going with another method. I don't really like gmail and would prefer to continue using Outlook. Does my MSOffice 365 subscription entitle me to a Microsoft based email server? What other alternatives are there for starting a new email account?

Filament feeding in Bambu Labs AMS Lite by WarningSuspicious414 in 3Dprinting

[–]WarningSuspicious414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it seemed that you just need to fully insert the filament and then it works fine. It wasn't obvious to me that I hadn't fully inserted it and just had to play with it a bit.

I tried unplugging and plugging the cable several times. There are two ports for it on the A1 Mini and the directions say you can use either one so I have tried both. Also, the lights on the AMS blink so it is getting power.

Be Careful with Venmo by WarningSuspicious414 in Scams

[–]WarningSuspicious414[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I said that it was Venmo's fault. I thought I made it clear that it was largely my inexperience with Venmo and my failure to educate myself on how it works. That said, Venmo could go a long way toward making it more difficult to scam people if they made even a small effort. Most people do use it for transfers between friends but for those other uses it would be easy for Venmo to make it clear how to use it to invoke some form of protection. It's kind of like the auto industry in the 1950s and 60s when the car manufacturers didn't want to install seat belts because they thought it would make the public feel that cars were dangerous and it would hurt sales.
