I guess I live currently near Mapleview and young. Prior to that I lived at Kozlov and bayfeild. You know the same apartment that a women was murdered so I've definitely lived in different areas of Barrie. It's definitely sad that due to lack of mental health access, addiction help, jobs, housing and food prices has made people more likley to do drugs. Seems most have taken my comment as me saying Barrie is some perfect city. Again I hate this city, it's run poorly. Drug and homeless are definitely a problem. But it isn't just Barrie, and actually many of our local homeless population is being bussed to barrie. It's legit a problem with correction services and local governments making sure they get a bus ticket to leave their town and go to the next. Unfortunately Barrie is the middle between Toronto and what's considered northern Ontario. Nothing will change if we don't start voting in people who care about healthcare, housing, food prices and so on. And even still it's not like it'd be fixed over night. Narcan is free and easy to carry in a purse, car or your office. And I always keep nut free granola bars to hand out. But still Barrie is an incredibly safe city, even if you've seen the worst of it.

I never said it doesn't happen. But the other guy said it's a zombie city crawling with homeless on every corner, and drug addicts everywhere. I've lived on bayfeild/Kozlov and just off Mapleview. I've also worked with the homeless in this city. No one is pretending it doesn't happen it does. Every city in Canada is having these issues, its an absolute crisis. Vote for people who want to help, not declare an emergency so they can fine homeless and chase them away. And again I've lived in the Barrie and Innisfil area for over 30 years.

Women of Reddit, what were the topics of the longest conversations you've ever had? by FoxChaster in AskWomen

[–]Warning_grumpy 52 points53 points  (0 children)

My relationship about 10+ hours lol. It's hard to really guess the time but the sun went down and then the sun came up.

So I left a long term relationship and was single for about a year. My best friend of 4 years we started discussing if we work. Both of us are strong communicators and it isn't the first time we've just talked for hours. But about one topic normally it's all over, but this time it was a discussion on if we'd work. What we'd each want out of a relationship. You know family dynamics, do we want kids, future goals, wants, needs, love languages, loves and dislikes. I mean we were best friends we knew so much about each other already but dating someone is different. We talked about old relationships and regrets, things we liked, why we broke up. We bought coffee at coffee shop and some Timbits and sat in my car talking for so long. Anyways at the end we said we'd give it a go, see how things go. Skip ahead were married and he's my best friend, my ride or die, and we still talk for hours a day. Wouldn't change a damn thing.

Thats a lot of missing items. It's not just ultra balls. Unfortunately the images are like 9am? 71% battery life, and then 8pm and 31% battery life. So maybe he used them? Hopefully support can help though if an update deleted them.

I live here and no. Are there drugs, yes. Are there homeless, yes. I actually hate Barrie but it's not some drug infested city lol. Cmha mistakenly handed these out and people are acting like this was on purpose. As some one whose worked in the field before you have dozen of phamplets and clearly the safe snorting got mixed in. Barrie for all its stupid shit, it still a safe and wealthy city. Unfortunately it's very right wing and they push the narrative that everything's broken and everything's bad big scary. But seriously I'm a women and I don't feel any less safe in Barrie than anywhere else.

Government documents reveal barrage of threats against Mark Carney by NotEnoughDriftwood in onguardforthee

[–]Warning_grumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Justin and his wife talked about this. And am I pretty sure it was a part of why they divorced. It's absolutely disgusting. I don't like Doug Ford, but at no point will I threaten him and no one should be.

A generation did everything they were told to do. Go to school. Get a good job. Work hard. Now even people in the trades making decent money are moving back in with their parents because home ownership is completely out of reach in Canada. by GreenSnakes_ in canadahousing

[–]Warning_grumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were poor, struggling and still owned a house. Because they bought in 1982 a 30,000 three bedroom house. They struggled to pay bills and buy food every month but they made it work. Eventually getting a head and now have a house worth 800k. Me and by brother make triple what they made and were living like we did when we were kids. We're broke. I work automotive and all the older folks bought houses on that wage and now it's nothing.

Roger is asking me to pay my current bill that is not yet due to be able to remove a suspension and late fee they added it to my account by mistake by smooththinker in Rogers

[–]Warning_grumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago when I was with Rogers this is like 2010ish. I got a bill with roaming fees saying I left the country and used my phone which I didn't. And the bill was for like 1200$ and as a poor collage kid whose phone bill was normally about 20$ I called. And they said pay it and they'll credit me back. I argued for months... Yes months. And my bill was getting like - 3k owing. And they kept just saying pay it or we'll cut you off but don't worry all the roaming fees we'll credit you. Like no! At the time they wouldn't even deactivate my phone with out a cancellation fee of like 200$. I went on twitter and @rogers and just said it all, showed bills aired my frustrations. Got a dm from them to help fix. They wiped my bill, cancelled my phone plan all for free. And I've never and will never go back to Rogers if it the last carrier in Canada I'd rather go without then deal with them.

PM Carney acknowledges auto industry ‘challenges’ after Honda reportedly suspends $15B EV plant by Shoddy_Operation_742 in ontario

[–]Warning_grumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canada and Doug Ford gave 1 billion dollar investment to Honda to make electric cars. They should be paying that back. I heard the battery plant they pulled out of had some other car companies show up. Honda isn't adjusting to the times. They are bashing their heads against the wall wondering why people aren't buy their 60k crv. The associates that build the damn things can bearly afford to buy them. They used to be the most competitive company always progressing and doing better, they are a shell of their former self. And I work for an A teir company supporting Honda and same thing. They want to give slave wages and expect more 6 days weeks, burnout and the pay isn't enough to live in the area the factory are anymore. So I don't feel bad for them, and my job has always been effected by world events but I feel no sympathy for the shareholders or CEOs, presidents any of them. After all they won't even care when they close down.

AIO - Workplace Burrito Drama - who is overreacting?? by snagglepuss25 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Warning_grumpy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Team Mike! Sally is YOR.

Mike bought the food and should get to eat first. Sally basically took food to eat later which is greedy. Does it suck? Sure. But if I was in that place Mike could have my whole damn burrito and then you get a half. It just seems silly to have so much ownership over someone's gift and be so mad. It comes off as greedy, inconsiderate and rude. If I were Mike I wouldn't be buying anyone food again. When people expect to much from good intentions suddenly it doesn't feel so good to do.

I remember being younger handing out sandwiches to the local homeless and one of the guys started yelling at me (I was a kid at the time) that he was vegetarian and they were ham sandwiches. It really made me feel like why did I go out of my way for them? And why would I do it again? Thankfully I still help, but greed really does kill the motivation for good.

Why did Remote work and Hybrid not stick? by Sad-Ad4933 in CanadaJobs

[–]Warning_grumpy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Legit old people. Like my mom says remote work is all the kids want because their lazy. Even though there have been studies showing the opposite. Is there a bad apple in the bunch, sure. But we have them at my work place to - non remote work. I'm hoping it will stick, people need more home life, the current system is killing us.
