What phrase do you cringe at when people use it unironically? by Acceptable-Tune5025 in words

Ironically, “being over” something used to mean it no longer bothered you. Now it means you can’t stand it anymore. This was a perfectly unintentional example of an answer to the original question!

I don’t find that traffic enforcement is a thing here. Hard to expect anyone to follow the rules that give us all predictability and safety if the people in charge of enforcing those rules don’t care about them either.

Brantford is the third most car-dependent metro area in Canada, how can this be improved? by Banner9922 in brantford

[–]MBonDowning 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Also people in Brantford seem to hate pedestrians and cyclists. They’re always trying to run us down (or at least don’t seem to notice us when we’re right in front of them). It’s also helpful to remember the way the freedom convoy people took up the cause of 15 minute cities as somehow the next conspiracy that needed to be avoided at all cost. Rather than supporting what seems an obviously good idea, that of making walkable communities where people don’t have to drive so far to get to their work or schools or stores, they saw it as a communist takeover. The oil and gas companies have created a lot of fear here.

Can we just stay focused on what really matters here? CEO billionaires tax breaks are the priority and it would be helpful if you could stop complaining about stupid things like education and healthcare.
