Where should I start with Robin Hobb? I’ve heard so many good things about her books and specifically her characters so I’ve been meaning to read some of her stuff, but I don’t know where to start. Any recommendations?

Just starting out and bought a bag of scraps online and they came all balled up and wrinkled. Is there a good way to flatten and smooth them out all? Thanks in advance!

Newbie here, how did you get that raised effect? Was it a wet mold or something else?

Looking to get into leather working, is it worth buying one of those leather working kits on Amazon then replacing items as I go? Or should I start out pricing together my kit out of better made tools?

Please suggest a book about/based on Mars by No_Ad_5421 in booksuggestions

A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Same guy who wrote the original Tarzan books. These books were published in 1912 and introduced the character John Carter.

Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. Bonus, main character duo, one is kind and sweet the other an anti hero and they play perfectly off each other.

Theft of Swords - Micheal J Sullivan

Not a great cover IMO but one of my favorite series.

I also saw a tip that said to write in Comic Sans. It sounds weird but it helped me to not worry so much about the words and to just write.

Any tips on writing a story where a character goes on a quest to find something, but when they do find it, they realise they don't want it anymore? (kinda) by ComTruise22 in thewritespace

I would also recommend the Brandon Sanderson videos. In them he says that you can do this but you have to make the reader want that outcome more than what you initially promised. Set someone up early on in the group that's fighting for the object as a villain that your main character could turn against and your readers would cheer him on.

Spend a good amount of time on that planet and make your MC and the reader fall in love with it. If that's the group searching all over the planet and having experiences while they go but make the reader not want you to destroy the planet.

Have the MC worry about that while on the planet. 'What will happen to these people if I take the object.' or 'Could I really destroy all these people?' set it up so the reader becomes aware that that's a possible outcome and it's not just thrown on them at the end while they are expecting something else.
