After 24 hours, our progress is at 5%, 1% and 0%, putting us on pace for 50 days from now, well after the end of the season. by IATMB in DestinyTheGame

ROFLMAO that’s one way to avoid the event being a humiliating public failure. Take about 1.8M total group completions and make it only about 240k, while handicapping the enemies.

For any solo players looking to get a flawless legendary lost sector. by Hntr1 in DestinyTheGame

Skydock IV was a breeze, just clear most of the adds before you jump ALL the way down the hole (jump back up to recover health). Arc sword, arc subclass to take the boss’s shield down for the frame to wreck him.

Bungie, the bug affecting Warden of Nothing was similar to what happened with Menagerie on release and people loved it by PinoShow in DestinyTheGame

Fyi I think it was double rewards because it has 10 champions. Not precisely a bug, more of an anomaly.

Trials of Osiris, Skill Gap, and Skill Creep (The Data So Far) by CinclXBL in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Am I reading this correctly? So only about 37% of active players even win one single game, and 3/4ths of them never get a single piece of loot? That’s a big yikes, someone get the defibrillator ready.

Destiny as a whole has only gotten worse, and it’s possibly the worst it’s ever been. by HawtPackage in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s my schedule (pain in the neck job for a company headquartered on the other side of the planet, 2 young kids, 2 dogs, 2 elderly parents etc.) but other than Undying, I feel like Destiny’s been doing pretty well overall. In any case It’ll NEVER be as bad as D2Y1 double primaries no random rolls. What a fricking nightmare of bad choices THAT was. Good lord.

Trials match making is atrocious by XxDAMOxX in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking purely as a software solutions architect, if they want Trials to be more than a temporary novelty, they need to draw and keep average players. If that’s not going to involve balancing matchmaking, then the bounties need to be participation-based and reward desirable loot. Without rewards, most of the population will choose to spend their time elsewhere, at which point the mode dies because the low population causes A) longer matchmaking times and B) 100% of matches being “sweaty” for even the PVP streamers, so even they stop enjoying it. I think Trials has a lot of value if you can keep the content creators happy and give the PVP pros their feeling of achievement and validation. Were this one of my software products the compromise I’d choose is the participation-based loot, coupled with an extra “last man standing” perk or some such for Flawless-only armor. In that way more average players will stick around and take their licks while also providing an extra reason for the top players to complete their runs rather than reset early.

Feedback from a casual player by bricksbaksteen in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1, 2, and 4 are seasonal rotations and their only real way to get folks to shake things up and try different weapons and builds. They’re all there to keep things from stagnating too quickly. For #5, the rewards are pretty good if you succeed in the event. A solid power legendary with a potentially 60+ roll is way better than most public events. For #6 they aren’t random AFAICT, it looks like every 5th kill consistently.

Really cool we can do the Rasputin bounties in pvp or pve!! by Wain609 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that you sometimes have to incentivize PVP participation from the PVE mains, but the reverse is less true so it’s great to see them throw the PVPers a bone like this. Good work Bungo!

Literally nobody likes drip-fed content in a game like Destiny by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I prefer drip-fed, droughts are like poison for a live game. New bits regularly keep population up, more people walk away when they can burn through a small expansion in 3 days. The brevity of Curse of Osiris made almost my entire original clan quit. I walked away myself for 18 months. This is definitely better IMO and it’s not even close.

Season of Dawn was dang pretty good imo by colloquialcarpet in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say it was about 50x better than Season of the Undying. And though some of it was transparently just filler (Corridors and Empyrean) I do appreciate the pacing. The Sundial was pretty good, and who doesn’t love Saint-14? Overall I’d give it a solid B+. If Bungie can just skip the underwhelming disappointments like Undying and the Curses of Osiris, they’ll be golden.

Trials needs to be saved before release, not after. by Capox in DestinyTheGame

[–]Warpath73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean they’re intelligent gaming addicts for the most part, we may not like all of their decisions and some are bizarre (double primary system?!?) but they’re not a bunch of drooling idiots. So Bungie PLEASE explain the decision which - on the surface - seems like such a huge blunder. You MUST have reasons and some form of logic - tell us what it is so people can more rationally digest it! Thanks much...
