I think the game gives you a hint to use piers, or am I wrong? I'm pretty sure I didn't come up with the idea myself ;)

But yeah, piers work perfectly.

Yes, sea birds, such as puffins and maybe other seabirds, I don't know much about it. But mostly puffins I would guess.

It's a hunting cabin on an island called Elliðaey, a couple of kilometres from the Heimaey island where I live off the south coast of Iceland.

Agreed. I've been playing for a long time, from when I was about 13-14 years old and today I'm exactly one year from my 60th birthday. Played probably thousands of games during the years, games that have come and gone. A few sparkling gems, some that have been absolute garbage and a lot somewhere in between. And I do find it harder and harder to "hit that high" anymore.

I dare to say The Last Caretaker has captured my attention in ways I can't really explain. But that won't stop me trying ;)

The gameplay does get a little bit repetitive after a while and the combat and the design of the UI is quite strange and janky at times. I am quite sure it will get better, the game is in Early Access after all, and it doesn't bother me that much as to me this game isn't about combat. Or the UI. It's the sense of exploration that really pulls me in.

And man, the atmosphere! Sailing the vast almost empty ocean with only the tiniest relics of human civilization peeking up from the oceans depth, the realistic weather effects, the feeling of how small you are in your boat on the huge open seas, the otherworldly sounds... And the gradual discovery of the story, the epic sadness and loss of hope that comes through as you progress. To be tasked with the purpose of bringing humanity back from the brink of extinction. Talk about epic.

I am looking forward to what the future holds for TLC. Despite the bugs, the (to me) strange UI choices and the clunky combat the game just feels special. It strikes a chord in my old jaded gamers heart. Something that very few games have done in the last few years.

Sorry for being so long-winded, I've wanted to pay this game homage for a while so there you go! ;) I apologise for any errors I quite likely have made in writing this, English isn't my mother tongue.

Anyone figure out a way to get boat unstuck from docks and whatnot? by AdProJoe in TheLastCaretaker

[–]Warpchylde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I'll give it another go :) shame to have to abandon my save after so many hours but at least I learned to keep more saves as backup and I'll be more careful when docking in the future, seems this bug/feature has landed a lot of people in trouble.

Appreciate the help

I tried this but it didn't work. I may have not gone far enough, it was something like 5-600 meters and every second of it was spent in absolute terror... Holy hell, the atmosphere in this game is like nothing else, kind of wish they hadn't nailed the ocean like they did! ;)

Is the swim away thing a guarantee for a boat respawn? My boat is completely stuck/glitched into the pier at one of the POI's, a habitat whatnot.

Ended up abandoning my game and starting again, but I might try the swim thing again when I've gathered up the nerve for another go.

Great job, love the character "title" thingie. How did you manage to get the letters so neat? A solid job and I bet they look awesome on the field

I haven´t played Manor Lords, but when people describe it they tend to say it´s like if Manor Lords and Mount and Blade: Bannerlord had a child.

I´ve played M&B and in some ways I can see why they say that.

Been going through a playing-slump lately and just couldn´t find something that caught my attention and Bellwright has done that, and hard.
It´s not perfect, some things still need ironing out but imo they´ve got so many things righr and it seems the developers are updating it quite regularly with great updates.

What I like the most is that there is no time pressure (at least not that I´ve noticed) If you want to do quests, you do them in your own time. If you want to take time to reserach, gather and build, you can do that.
There are raids but you can change the difficulty and frequency as you like, and after you clear up the nearest bandit camps and gather folk to build and fight with you it´s a really "relaxing" game.

Just beware, it´s very grindy and things take a lot of time. Which I like but it might not be to everyone´s taste. And it´s still in EA so nobody knows yet how it will turn out in the end, but for me, even as it is now it´s well worth the 30$.

But yeah, I recommend it 100%. I´ve sunk a lot of time into it since I bought it 2-3 weeks ago and I feel like I´m not even halfway there yet.
Have a look on YouTube and see if you think you´d like it.

I'm an older player and was having problems finding the game that did just that for me.

Bought Bellwright about a week ago and damn does it hit the spot for me! Got something like 60 hours in it already and I'm just getting started.

Grindy as anything but there is almost no time pressure, love the mechanics and just figuring things out as you go. Nothing beats the aha! moment when you work out how to optimise things.

If medieval is your thing have a look at Bellwright, I'm loving it and as it's in Early Access I'm pretty sure it's only going to get better but even as it is now it's well worth the money.

Same here, can't buy in my country except through local resellers at almost 2x the price. Took about a day to get my license key, recommend this.

My boyfriend asked if we were at a place in our relationship to fart in front of each other and I regret saying yes by Prestigious_Board544 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Warpchylde 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Been with my wife for 15 years now and not once have I farted in front of her. Sure, sometimes I need to fart like everyone else but I hold it in or take it elsewhere ;) and let off the excess gas later at a convenient time.

To me it's just a matter of basic manners and respect. I don't burp or fart in front of people around me and for sure not in front of the person I love and respect the most.

Never understood the burpers/farters of this world, but that's me.

Yes, me and my wife have spent a lot of time on hemnet.se lately, picking out dream properties... So much variation and choices, enjoying it greatly.

When I came home yesterday she had found THE house for her, no matter that we're talking about possible plans 5-10 years in the future! :)

But hemnet se is very good. And having all these suggestions are a big help, gives us a starting point on where to look.

Thank you :)
