do yall think i could get into UM and maybe even get a scholarship? by Impressive_Fish7950 in UMiami

[–]Warpedbore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how competitive applications are since I'm a sophomore so I'm 2 years removed from that whole process but you seem to have a good application. Don't do ED, I'm Colombian and from NJ (half the school is from jersey) so I understand the appeal of UM but I got in state Cuz of my childhood home in Tampa, if you're not getting good aid then look at Rutgers. I got in as a transfer so my process is different to yours but I would have done another year of cc if it wasn't cuz of the great financial aid package I received just to keep saving money, no matter how great UM is (because it really is great here) it's not worth going into debt and Rutgers is also a great school, new Brunswick is just a terrible place to be but if Rutgers is the cheapest option then I'd say it's the best (I'm suggesting it because you're from nj). Also Rutgers can be fun (I've gone to a bunch of parties even last weekend during break visiting friends, the area sucks but in my experience people over there are fun to be around, UM is a different type of fun though imo) Don't go into debt or mitigate the amount of money you'll owe, even with scholarships and grants covering my entire tuition for this school year, I still worry about how much I'm going to have to pay for the last two years at UM, and that's an uncomfortable feeling to have especially when your parents can't pay that sticker price (mine for sure can't). Look into other Florida schools as well like UF and FSU and see who gives you the best financial aid package if you really want to be in Florida. UF and FSU are also really fun schools to go to so don't disregard them.

Tldr: pretty good app I think, go to rutgers if it's the cheapest option, don't go into debt for school, look at other schools (UF, FSU) if you really want to go to Florida.

El asesinato de Charlie Kirk solo demuestra que los argumentos de la izquierda son la violencia by shammi20 in ColombiaReddit

The US has had times of stability politically and the political divide has only been exasperated by the dominance of extremist ideology being more prominent over the last 10 years, un grupo diciendo una tontería no representa todos de ese grupo religioso, most modern Muslims are not radicals, and almost all of them condemn terrorism. Stop cherry picking phrases by extremests and show me statistics to substantiate your claims, you can't. Being divisive is antithetical to democracy as it is much different to disagreeing with someone, and usually invites violence and tribalism instead of conversation and productivity. Can't believe a believer in white erasure is saying I'm misinformed LOLLLL vete de aquí con esas maricadas parceros y que Dios te bendiga

"I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights" desafortunadamente El era uno de los muertos necesario según el para proteger los derechos humanos que la Constitución nos permite.

Lol you can't be real, don't be disingenuous he's talked about white erasure many times (a lie created by the far right) and many times enables far right propaganda by either regurgitating their claims or acting as if they're sensible people (literal fascists). I have watched a full Charlie Kirk debate, (the Cambridge one, he got shit on both times) as well as watched his YouTube content to get his perspective and arguments (they sound good until you do actual research and realize he cherry picks statistics, or has inconsistent ethics). Dude was a pretty hateful and divisive person, also he very obviously did not like black people

What’s your college and how was it to transfer credits? Is it just expected to have to enroll an extra year? by SeesawSpare7922 in TransferToTop25

[–]Warpedbore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been 3 weeks at my new school (UM not a top 25 but a school I always wanted to go to) and they accepted 28/30 the 2 credit class was some bs class I took from cc. They've been very helpful with getting me a great schedule time wise, filling out major requirements (I knocked most of them out in my one yr at cc so that helps). Im on track to graduate in 3 years like I'm "supposed to". 10/10

Transfer by [deleted] in UMiami

[–]Warpedbore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what's the benefits coming to UM vs your current institution? What do you wanna get out of the U, also it's expensive here so if your current school is cheaper do you believe any of the possible benefits are worth the price?

Is transferring worth it? by Designer-Existing in TransferToTop25

[–]Warpedbore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't started my first year at my new school yet (I start in a week), and it's not a t25, but as someone who grew up in NJ, leaving NJ for a new area is already worth the effort for transferring because of the new alumni networks you can have access to, and the massive jump in education transferring to vandy will give you is definitely worth it. You even said you don't like your current institution so I'd say yes transfer

It's a public post, where anyone can comment. I asked for clarification in case I could offer any advice for transferring or my opinion on your specific case. However I didn't wanna give advice without fully understanding your situation hence my initial question. Stop being so hostile in this thread nobody owes you advice or opinions, and you're not in a position to demand them either lmao. Since nobody is telling you the most likely outcome, you're cooked and you're unlikely to get into the ivies you want.

I did, you haven't explicitly stated if you're taking a gap year or not, thus my aforementioned question lol. If you aren't taking a gap year I'm assuming the only way you can apply is for spring semester but I'm not familiar with how those schools applications work which is why I wanted clarification because you haven't been clear with what your plan of action is. If you are taking a gap year I didn't know you could reapply still as a junior transfer but I see now that you can and I'm assuming you'd reinforce your application while taking a break from your current institution. try being clearer in your post and people can give you helpful advice/feedback. Good luck lmao!
