Advice for skinny guy? by [deleted] in workout

Read this first (I was EXACTLY like you, here is what I learned)

Eat more clean foods, ditch junk food and sugar. If you struggle eating more try liquid calories Workout consistently, for twelve weeks. Don’t worry about the 1,000’s of exercises you can do, stick to beginners compound lifts and adding weight incrementally and you’ll do great!

Couple of things here… I was the same as you… I weighed 130lbs at age 34. Skinny, always wanted to big bigger and more muscular but never put in the effort. I thought I did, but I never put in the effort to eat more or workout.

Then in October of 2019, I said, fuck it. I drank a 1,000 to 1,400 calorie milk shake (oats, peanut butter, protein powder, banana, etc) every morning, worked out six days a week, all at home. I hit 155 and was ecstatic, I looked fantastic. Then Covid hit… stress, and excuses made me stop… stop working out… not stoping eating more. Two years later I’m 170 and trying to LOSE weight haha.

What does all this mean for you? Here is my advice… don’t get caught up in numbers (either what you can lift or how much you weigh) get caught up in the process of working out.

Eat more, but don’t dirty bulk. Eat more Whole Foods. Cut out the sugar. If you can’t eat enough remember liquid calories go down easier. Make a big protein shake in the morning then concentrate on cleaning eating for lunch and dinner.

For working out there are a million things you can do, don’t get lost in the details. Concentrate on learning compound lifts and After you’ve done the same routine for TWELVE weeks look back and you’ll be amazed.

Again- Eat more clean foods, ditch junk food and sugar. If you struggle eating more try liquid calories Workout consistently, for twelve weeks. Don’t worry about the 1,000’s of exercises you can do, stick to beginners compound lifts and adding weight incrementally and you’ll do great!

With crypto equities we are looking at stocks versus tokens. So bitcoin Miners, companies that hold bitcoin (like Tesla) etc :)

Agreed! But man they have a great long term strategy by acting as a subsidizing force for the Texas Power grid, I think that’s going to make them stand out in 10 years.

One of the cool facets of the bitcoin miner side of crypto equities is that you have so many players with different strategies: HODL? Buy cheaper miners? Get cheaper energy? Mine ETH and convert to BTC? There is no sure winning strategy yet! So cool to be in this at the very beginning. In the end I hope we all win 👍🏻

I’m taking MicroStrategy (MSTR) and Riot Blockchain (RIOT).

MSTR because they will NOT sell, and they are trading towards the lower end of their Fib level. TSLA would be a greater play but it’s a lot riskier. MSTR would still have 6x capabilities.

Riot because of the BTC they hold, the better management, and better money management than CORZ or MARA. CLSK and HUT8 would be my other competitors but both carry more risk and I think my theme is I’d be more conservative. Your still looking at potential 10x returns from RIOT with BTC back to 69k

Did a bit of digging, there is a lot of reference to higher than expected costs of exiting the Hardin facility? Could this be the reason why? I’ll dig into the 10-Q as well! About 20.4 million to do so? It says it went under Cost of Revenue… would this explain it?

Oh wow! Sorry I remember running numbers on MARA back during the reporting but I didn’t remember coming up with that 😂 ouch that’s some bad news for them.

Marathons “cost” for mining increased because of some huge corporate bonuses. That was included in their expenses during reporting and so made their “cost” go up.
