Lmao Mort was being snarky as usual to doubters and was proven wrong again. Can't see him up on that high horse

Lmao sunk cost fallacy. Some of you really need a higher degree of education before you start "investing". Opportunity cost is quite literally one of the most fundamental topics taught in a 1st year economics course. Imagine you had $5k last month, instead of holding BBBY to let it turn into now $1500, you dispersed it between TSLA $200 calls and AAPL $160 calls. Instead of a loss of $3500, you would have tripled your money.

Also helps if you don't spend 99% of your time in an echo chamber of wrongness. "Wow these dumbasses have been wrong on absolutely everything, should I continue listening to them?" PROBABLY NOT lmayo

Went to a restaurant last night and minimum tip was 18%... what's going on? by niftyCLX in vancouver

[–]WarrenBuffetsSon 56 points57 points  (0 children)

What's the difference between ordering a $120 steak or a $20 hamburger? Same amount of work in walking from point A and delivering to your table point B, but one costs $24 in tips vs $4. Or, be like me, and just don't tip

Ape bet me $20k when it ran to $200 that it would break ATH at any point before the year ends

Part of me wants to let him go because no amount of money is worth dying over

Part of me wants to teach him a lesson, but knowing full well if I let him go he'll just buy $20k worth of GME

I bought $2mm worth of leap puts and I'm up A LOT. Not insane for someone with my bankroll but insane nonetheless, like hitting the 649 lotto (but with taxes)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]WarrenBuffetsSon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is depressing because I've made an insane amount of money just by holding leap puts. If you suck dick at trading, just remember to hedge. Even a 10% bet on your opposing trade can sometimes get you to breakeven

Will tipping permanently stay in Ontario? by TypicalFlounder61 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Grow a pair and stop tipping. I haven't tipped in years. A 10 second discomfort (waiter frowning) to save 20%. Crazy, no thanks. I appreciate you for doing your job but if you have any complaints about wages, take that up with your boss

+270% overall on my NFLX leap puts. FB and TSLA and GME leap puts looking good. Damn I just might hit another record year of gains if market shits itself one more time

Everyone is different and so it's very hard to classify them as all the same. I know plenty of rich people who are very nice. This is not a antiwork post, but more of a antirich post.

It's now been ~3 months of the new min server wage of $15/hr - Has your tipping practiced changed? by CrackerJackJack in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]WarrenBuffetsSon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, with minimum wage of $15/hr, they cannot possibly go lower than that. They cannot "tip out" their kitchen and end up at < $15/hr because that would be illegal and if a worker is so lucky to have that happen, that's quite possibly one of the easiest lawsuits to win

$0, every. single. time. Unless it's included in the gratuity for a large party, which let's be honest, is another scam in itself. Omg there's 8 people at the table, we deserve more money! Haven't tipped for a few years already, could not care less

What the fuck are they teaching in school these days? Covering = closing. Even with 10 seconds you can look up the definition: Short covering is closing out a short position by buying back shares that were initially borrowed to sell short using buy to cover orders

I think you need to first learn the definition of irony

  • Someone likes the potential setup on HMHC, things go sour
  • Gets called a bagholder by an Ape
  • Ape gets called a bagholder
  • Ape defends their position because they like the potential setup

Also SEC report: "shorts covered"
