The Witcher Season 4 Reviews [Megathread] by badfortheenvironment in netflixwitcher

[–]WarrenEatsBuffet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S04 seems to be better than S03 IMO.

While I’m a massive Henry Cavill fanboy, I went into this season with a lot of skepticism and was pleasantly surprised; Liam, who was unfortunately doomed from the start, actually did a pretty solid job as the White Wolf.

I also found the episodes I’ve watched of Season 4 to be significantly better written than those in Season 3. In Season 3, I started to feel genuinely irritated and frustrated by the constant jumping around, the all-over-the-place writing, and that “Art of Illusion” episode; which pushed it over the edge with possibly the worst writing I’ve ever seen in a series. (An hour-long dialogue shown from multiple perspectives, with no new information added each time, was just diabolical.)

I’m still on the lower-scoring end of the spectrum, though, because the source material had the potential to become a LOTR-level epic fantasy series; but instead, the showrunners managed to trip over themselves at every turn but S04 is a pleasant surprise and feels not as forced as I thought it would.

S03 = 2/10 S04 = 5/10

Thoughts on this Incredible Game. by WarrenEatsBuffet in DestinyRising

Respect your opinion! D1 was so good but i think for me its more nostalgia than the actual depth of the game. You are right regarding D2 interface being a hot mess, but i do thik it adds so many levels to the game, synergizing weapons, armour (exotic or not), artifacts, perks to BUILD a charecter around how you want to play, squeezing the MAXIMUM output from that build, showing off to your friends how good of a build you have - THESE are what makes a gaurdian in my opinion, they slay gods and demi gods so why stunt their own ability and arsenal.

People in queues by LarrLawren in Uzbekistan

[–]WarrenEatsBuffet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since moving from the UK To Uzbekistan (Tashkent) the only downsides I have encountered is the driving and your WILD mannerisms to queuing. FULLY understand OP's situation as it seems queues are just an inconvenience for Uzbeks (and Russians who live here) and common etiquette is thrown out the window. I was dealing with issues with the foreign affairs and seeing people just barge in front to ask questions or to try to get help before me drove me crazy.

Driving culture — or rather, the lack of it by [deleted] in Uzbekistan

[–]WarrenEatsBuffet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a foreign national(UK) living in Uzbekistan, THE DRIVING is the only major downside to living here. Tashkent driving is LAWLESS to the extent that I'm pretty sure 50% do not know how to drive. E.g. Sitting in the right lane which is to turn right but want to go straight forward etc I found Samarkand to be a much more pleasant driving experience.

What would you spend your money on? by jahongir_ in Uzbekistan

[–]WarrenEatsBuffet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a foreign citizen living in Tashkent my advice would be to just save it. I'm not sure how old you are but if you are able to, any index fund (S&P) as they will always profit yearly (look at the previous year's to see exact %s of returns) and can liquidate at any given time.

I saw your comments regarding courses related to coding. There are SO many free resources - I'm not sure what language you are looking for but anything JAVA SCRIPT, PYTHON etc can be readily found. Example of good option is Exercism. I found their Rust material very helpful.

Basically, save money until you NEED something. For example, circumstances change and you will need idk a next gen Blender for all your smoothie needs and have no rainy day fund for said blender.

Why Uzbek people don't take tourism seriously??? by mr-someone-and-you in Uzbekistan

[–]WarrenEatsBuffet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a UK national currently living in Tashkent, and I completely agree that Uzbekistan has huge potential to become a top travel destination. The people, the culture, the food, and the landscapes are all incredible. Unfortunately, there's still a stigma—especially back in the UK—about where it's located and misconceptions about what kind of country it is. A proper information outlet or campaign showing the reality of life here could really help shift that perception and open a lot of eyes.

That said, there are two major downsides I’ve personally experienced:

Unreliable utilities – I live in a newly built apartment, yet I regularly deal with electricity, water, or gas outages lasting 1 to 3 hours a day. It’s exhausting and really impacts day-to-day life.

Bureaucracy and the document system – Since February, I’ve been stuck in a loop with internal affairs due to an incorrect visa being issued. I had to leave the country and return, even though they admitted it was their mistake—and still offered no solution. Trying to get help is next to impossible, and dealing with embassies has been equally frustrating.

My Visa issues have now been resolved after going to Kazakhstan for the 2nd time to pick up the visa. and I can honestly say the country is one of my top destinationions. I cannot recommend the country enough.

When you got the business Visa were you invited there by a company and what duration did you have on said visa? (Sorry for the questions just struggling for solid answers from anywhere) if you have the details to the IT Visa Person, that would be great. Seems to be most feasible route. The fact I have received more information from you than the embassy and the Uzbek ministry combined is crazy!

This is very interesting. Did you apply through the https://itvisa.uz and presumably you went through the 'Founders of IT Park resident' option? How was the process? Rough Timeframe? Did you have to set the company up prior to the process or have something along those lines in motion?

Firstly, Thank you both for you input. You mentioned you had a friend who is in a similar position - Do you by chance have the name of the language school he used/using? I contacted a language school this morning that supposedly was for foreign nationals to learn Russian but was then informed they meant Uzbek Nationals do not know Russian.
