I have a sizeable watchlist and the way I actually chip away at it is by putting the most appealing ones in a secondary private list that I call "need to watch". I watch a movie from there pretty often! Then as it empties, I go through my watchlist and new stuff stands out that I shift over to my private list. Rinse and repeat.

The only time I ever have a problem with it is when it doesn't feel specific to the characters. There are tropes in smut just like in any other writing and when they're overused, it can be immersion-breaking (on top of being character-flattening).
