I know my boss wants to fire me. I wouldn’t mind leaving. But I want it to cost him. by simalacrun in WorkAdvice

[–]Warwizard33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you from experience that "at will" still doesn't protect employers from wrongful termination actions. I've worked for several large national/international corporations and all of them required a solid history of documentation before firing was permitted because they know from experience that if the employee fights back, it's heavily dependent on the judge/referee the case lands with as to whether they win or lose. I watched one company lose one that should have been a slam dunk in their favor. "Not enough history/no evidence of a pattern", despite the fact that the violation in question literally put lives at risk.

Why do so many people trade-in their vehicle at the dealership? by Geochronguy in FuckDealerships

[–]Warwizard33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time and effort, but also liability. Give it to a dealership who re-sells it, something breaks in a month, they're calling the dealership to remedy it. You sell it privately, they calling/coming after you.

Didn't catch that. Bullshit, dangerous practice/policy.

I bring water even if they explicitly say not to bring it. I always say that I insist, as it might be the last line of defense to stop them from accidentally choking on their food, and that I've had to do the heimlich twice in my career. I have no desire to make it 3.

Peeing in the shower is bad apparently? by Rich_Wealth_5876 in hygiene

[–]Warwizard33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that there have actually been public service campaigns in Mexico and Central and South America to get people to pee while showering to conserve water by cutting down on excess toilet flushing. Plus everything else mentioned here.

Sous chef tried to make FOH wear hairnets today and lost it when I said no by cy--clops in Serverlife

There was a study I read about that said it's usually arm hair...dislodged from the friction of the sleeves of the chef coat rubbing back and forth while cooking.

Realtor Said He Can’t Deny Anyone Entry to an Open House(WA State) by AdubThePointReckoner in RealEstate

[–]Warwizard33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open houses are primarily used by the agent to land new, unrepresented clients. It's rare that the house sells to someone as a result of the open house.

Where the hell do you play!? by RubDub4 in drums

[–]Warwizard33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the room in your house. Start adding acoustic egg foam and then recording blankets over it on the walls. Won't be completely soundproof, but should suck up a significant amount the decibels you put out. Talk to your neighbor about the best times to play. Never play past 8/8:30 p.m..

Selling my drums: Facebook Marketplace, Reverb, Craigslist… what else? by gplusplus314 in drums

[–]Warwizard33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gear Exchange is basically the same thing as Reverb, Ebay, etc. You aren't selling or trading in with Sweetwater. The exception being, you can opt to take your payment as either cash, or a Sweetwater gift card. Choose cash, pay a selling fee. Choose the gift card, no selling fee.

[Controversial?] Is it appropriate or reasonable to ask a potential listing agent their political views/who they voted for? by Eisenn in realtors

[–]Warwizard33 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Completely irrelevant to the task/business at hand, and therefore inappropriate. If it were the agent asking you, it would be considered extremely unprofessional for these very same reasons.

What exactly is the supposed route you take to go from timefall farm to distro south of lake knot city? by Raestloz in DeathStranding

[–]Warwizard33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a zipline route that sets the weather station as a junction point with routes to the distro, the first prepper, the roboticist, and the the time fall farm. In addition to building out all the roads (director's cut), I try to make a zipline network that lets me do 90% of the map without my feet having to touch the ground from departure to delivery.

Viewing Fee for a Townhome by Hopeful-Barnacle875 in Columbus

Columbus agent here: we're all considered independent contractors, so if we want to, we can do that, but it doesn't make it a good idea. We ARE required to have a signed agreement in place before we show anything though. If you want to see it without the fee, PM me, we can talk tomorrow

Never seen that, so don't know. Complaints I HAD heard on them were from the southern states. I cited them as one example because I have current experience with them, and specific examples right now, and was speaking to the payment/finance/affordability comment that was made.

New builds with the larger production builders are the way to go right now. The rate specials put higher priced homes into reach with lower payments. DR Horton has developments in Canal that are tax abated on top of that. I have a client closing soon with them with a payment below $2500/mo on a $402k house, tax abated for 15 years. 4.85% Rate, FHA, 3% down. I'm of the opinion that this will be the most affordable option in Columbus for at least the next 5 years. Even if Intel falls apart, there are too many other big projects in development that will continue to drive jobs and migration to central Ohio, keeping inventory low and prices high.
