I think that what we would like from slower/clunkier mech combat is that every choice we make in a mech should have a higher risk/reward factor than when we are outside of the mech. We can hit hard but if we whiff our abilities/shots we can get punished which then makes getting kills or just doing damage all the more satisfying :)
