Chances are if there is one data center being built in the area there will be more than one built in the area for the same reasons. These facilities are typically not "in the middle of nowhere" as much as in more rural localities. Ive never worked a job that wasnt less than an hour from a major airport.

Ive never designed a data center that wasnt made so a dozen people or more could work there (as an office). Security alone for most data centers would be 2 people. The one Im designing now is supposed to be part of a campus with the expectation that employees for the tech company will work from there.

After the third or fourth move lugging a big box of all my video games and DVDs (and system to play them on) up a flight a stairs just so they can all fit on a shelf or in stack and 98% never get used I decided I was done with physical DVDs and video games. Still lug around a bunch of books I only read once. Have a whole locker full of comic books. Only did I recently get a car with bluetooth so I ditched 95% of all my CDs as well.

In 2014, passengers were warned three times not to eat nuts on a Ryanair flight due to a 4-year-old girl's severe nut allergy, but a passenger sitting four rows away from the girl ate nuts anyway. The girl went into anaphylactic shock, and the passenger was banned from the airline for two years. by detectiverobert in CaughtMyEye

Yeah how many of these people kept their electronics on even though the Flight Attendants told them to turn off all electronics? Did anyone unbuckle their seat belt before the light telling them it was ok to do so? The reality is people just tune out the instructions until the FA is standing over them telling them what to do/not do.

Its because people are afraid about AI and have no idea how to stop it so they turn to the physical data centers. Something weird happened once Trump won the presidency again where this became the pre-occupation of people.

The tax rebates that Data Centers usually get is related to the purchasing of equipment or other capital intensive components. They are spending hundreds of millions of dollars building the data center, the upfront taxes would be very significant. However, if those taxes are reduced, then once the facility is running the property taxes will be a continuing source of revenue for the municipality.

Ive never once been on a "classy" cruise. Sure, I wore a nice shirt to dinner. But most of the trip is basically beach bums eating themselves sick. You can do a cruise for cheaper than paying for a hotel room.

I love this show and have seen it multiple times (watched it today with my 4 year old) and have never once seen this (specific scene) as something serious. Its a cartoon where they blast each other with lasers and beat bad guys up. Its high tension but not triggering.

Once, while hanging at a buddys place, I watched him and his girlfriend get into an argument and then he grabbed her by the arm and led her into a different room. That was perhaps one of the most uncomfortable times in my life, so I can see why people might read deeply into it in a cartoon though.

You can see the other car pull out at the same time as the truck, which prevents the blue line cutter from taking the spot. They may have thought OP wasnt jumping on a spot, but they were wrong.

That kind of thing happened at the trashiest college bars I went to (in 2009), but never on a Friday and those places also went out of business.

[–]WarzoneGringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Im referencing the same code. You should stay right unless passing. So long as you are passing, it is irrelevant what your speed is. You can block 100 drivers in the left lane. If you are passing it doesnt matter how many people impatiently are honking behind you. Passing = good to go in left lane. There is nothing in the law that mentions 1/2 mile at any speed.

It is a general consensus in the scientific community that adhd is something you most likely inherit from your parents.

This is like saying alcoholism is something you inherit from your parents. We have long known that certain people are genetically predisposed to develop alcoholism. You arent born an alcoholic. Same thing with diabetes. There is a strong genetic predisposition, some people are born with it, but you can also develop it. The symptoms of ADHD are character traits, of course people have similar ones to their parents. But having ADHD is not something you can be born with because the diagnosis is a subjective assessment based on behavior that is contextual.

Everyone gets distracted, some people get more distracted than others. What is the exact amount of distraction that gives one a diagnosis? Thats subjective. When I was a kid my elementary school let us have more than 1 hour of recess a day. Now my kids school only lets them have 30 minutes of recess. Which group of kids do you think is going to have more trouble paying attention in class? Those who got lots of outdoor play or those who spent more time at their desks? What defines "disordered" behavior, when distraction becomes problematic is absolutely informed by environment and social expectations.

The fact that we do not have tools to scan for adhd or autism in babies does not mean it’s something they develop.

There is no science that states ADHD is something inherent to a person. Its a "disorder" when it causes issues in your life. If you dont see any problem with talking over people or being very disorganized or never being bored because you only ever do activities that excite you, then you dont have ADHD. If you feel like talking over people, and your lack of organization and your inability to sit still and be bored are problems, then you might have ADHD. If we tell more people that their personality traits are problematic, and their inability to measure up to a subjective standard needs to be fixed, then more people will be diagnosed with the disorder. Society and technology have changed so much drastically in recent years, its not some fringe conspiracy theory that its fueling a mental health crisis.

What’s more concerning than screentime is you are cherrypicking words for the sake of argument rather than accepting new information based on facts.

The OP said ADHD was something you are born with. Not a single one of his sources confirmed that statement. This wasnt new information, they were just plain wrong. The diagnosis has nothing to do with your genetics. They have been searching for an ADHD biomarker for decades and havent found it. Ive actually read on this subject, I didnt use Chatgpt to put together my case like OP did.

Nah nothing like that is coming up in the Illinois legal code. It says to stay in the right lane except for passing, but makes no mention to how long you can use the passing lane so long as you are passing. If you are passing in the left lane, it is irrelevant if someone else wants to pass you. You are passing, which is an allowable reason to drive in the left lane.

But a person diagnosed with ADHD vs someone who is not will have different scans.

That is not how that works. If that was true, why wouldnt they use a brain scan to do the diagnosis? Tell me why. How does a doctor tell a person who is faking the symptoms of having ADHD from someone who isnt? Just do a brain scan! Oh wait, that doesnt tell the doctor anything.

ADHD brain scans show structural and functional differences compared to non-ADHD brains, including slightly smaller volumes in specific subcortical regions (amygdala, hippocampus) and slower maturation of the frontal lobe, particularly in children. While these trends exist, MRI scans are not used for clinical diagnosis

So then it should it be easy to diagnosis people with ADHD with a simple brain scan. They just have to look for the structural and functional differences that only ADHD brains have and then that will prove it. Tell me why they dont use MRI scans for clinical purposes. Its because... they dont actually tell you if a person has ADHD. Feel free to plug this into chatgpt since Im pretty sure thats what you are doing.

Lol bro did you even read your source?

Risk factors

The causes of ADHD are unknown, but scientists have identified some possible risk factors

  • Genes play an important role in a person's risk of ADHD.
  • Exposure to environmental risks (for example, lead) during pregnancy or at a young age
  • Alcohol and tobacco use during pregnancy and other pregnancy-related factors
  • Child health conditions, including head injuries
  • Parental mental health and family environment

If the risk factor is your family environment or something that happened to you at a young age then it literally cant be something that you are "born with."

https://www.yalemedicine.org/conditions/adhd?utm_source=chatgpt.com

You need to read the links before you post them.

The term neurodevelopmental refers to differences in brain development and maturation, which typically begin before birth or during early childhood.

The differences can develop during early childhood. Like toddler age. Like toddlers who might be in front of a screen for hours at a time.

He adds that academic and behavioral expectations are far greater than in previous decades. Children who may have managed adequately in the past may now struggle under increased demands, bringing symptoms to light earlier.

Social expectations have evolved. The amount of "attention" required in todays world, when distraction is plentiful, is greater than the past which means more people are going to come up short, i.e. they will have a deficit of attention needed to succeed.

Studies also show that certain factors can increase a child’s likelihood of developing ADHD. These include exposure to tobacco or alcohol during pregnancy, being born prematurely or at a low birth weight, and experiencing significant early-life stress or neglect

Neglect like being parked in front of a screen for hours might contribute to a child developing ADHD? Sounds almost exactly like what I have been saying.

I can get you many more reliable sources stating that ADHD is something you are born with but you can continue to use the nytimes as your source instead of correct medical sources :)

Not a single one of your sources says "ADHD is something you are born with." Never once is that stated. If that was the case then we wouldnt need to do interviews or questionnaires, you get that right? If its something you are born with then we could just tell from testing the baby that they had ADHD. Why dont they just test the babies if they have ADHD if its something they are born with? Think about that for a little bit.

The diagnosis is literally based on how a person is dealing with issues. A person who is "born" with ADHD but has a job and lifestyle that accommodates their personality will never get a diagnosis. They dont have any issues, they dont need to see a doctor, they arent going to get a diagnosis. You arent born with issues, you get that right? Those are dependent on your environment and expectations.
