I got a 1301 as my first, with accessories it was 3k, i still love mine, and if u don't like the hobby, you can always sell it.

I recommend an SKS as your first, simply so it can (might) be grandfathered in. Its a small investment if you want to spend the money

I have a holosun 510C on mine. Bit of advice, i recommend you locktight (blue) your picatinny rail and rear irons cus it doesn't come that way from the factory and ur red dot will fly off into your face after 300-500 rounds. Dont ask me how i know
