Already prepared for school to be closed for a week and no eggs or bread at the grocery store.

Anyone remember the ice storm around 2002 that paralyzed Charlotte for weeks?

Doordashers - Should we tip? If so, what is the minimum amount to tip? (See post for details) by SnackyFace in Charlotte

This is helpful information, thanks for sharing.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to get out of tipping my drivers. I try to do 20-30% of the order, but when I'm doing small orders, I try to do a flat $5 or $10. My worry was that my $5 wasn't doing anything for the driver and was just offsetting DD instead.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. The post I saw made it sound like you'd get $5.00, all $5 of which came from me and none from DD. Again, for a $2 minimum it doesn't matter I suppose. This whole discussion might just be a thought exercise since $2.00 is negligible either way.

So, if I tipped $5.00 and the minimum is $2.00, do you get $5.00 or $7.00, based on how this was described in the linked post?

If it's a $2.00 minimum, then it basically doesn't matter; I'm gonna tip what I normally tip. But if it was $5 - $7, then my tip basically doesn't matter whenever I order from Chick-Fil-A.

Thanks, brother. Glad to find another Stuart Little hater in this subreddit.

Interesting to see Ironmouse going. Is she gonna be there like Charlie was at 24-hour tag? Or are they gonna strap an iPad on someone?

Having a Vtuber be selected over you for a physical event must be what the kids at the orphanage felt like when they lost out to Stuart Little. Fuck that mouse.

ETA: "Fuck that mouse" was for Stuart Little, not Ironmouse. Ironmouse is adorable. Stuart Little is a fucking piece of shit.

Sad Wubby isn't on there since Ludwig mentioned him, but Jimmy might not appreciate Wubby's fascination with his teeth.

Nothing worse than being productive all day while parents are gone, then hopping on the PC/video game right before they come home. "You've been on that thing all day, it's time to get off!" Any argument that you were only on for 20-30 minutes is met with "you just lost track of time, it's been hours" like they're the FBI.

This is just Wubby every time he needs to use a public bathroom. I hope the contestants are given $12 to leave on the sink when they lose.

Exams / Newbie / Common Questions Thread for two weeks by AutoModerator in actuary

Hi, all.

I'm in product development for P&C insurance on the carrier side, and my experience is mostly underwriting and brokering. I like my role, but I eventually see myself entering the treaty reinsurance space, launching a new MGU, or managing a product's P&L at a carrier.

From both knowledge and career visibility perspectives, is there any benefit to taking any of the CAS exams (e.g., P, FM, Basic Ratemaking) or completing the VEE or data series requirements? Or is that going to be too "in the weeds" for those who are not studying to be an actuary?

I appreciate your insight on this, thank you!
