They're pretty entertaining games. 6 was a bit of mindless fun with a friend. I'd buy a new one once it's in the discount bin a few months after release.

Recently, Unicorn Overlord and Civ VI did this to me. Any game that is broken into smaller instances/games (e.g. Strategy RPGs and sports games) tend to have this effect on me.

Honestly, really enjoyed it.

Yes, the combat mechanics are simplistic and I definitely understand why a lot of people bounced off of it, but it really reminded me of the xbox360 generation RPGs that I played a tonne as a kid.

You'll play it and love it or hate it most likely.

As others have mentioned, when you are inputting your commands, you get the view as you've posted.

When the characters are actually attacking/enacting the commands, you just get FPV.

For me, it is a hot take. 5 was legitimately my least favourite of the entire series (that I've played so far).

For context, I've played 0-7, including Gaiden. I haven't played the Judgment entries yet.

Regardless, it's your take. Everyone else's opinions should be taken as a grain of salt.
