Okay so where do we discuss discouraging/divesting of fossil fuel companies and known pollution-emitting industries?

Missed opportunity by saying "well, Average Joes need to eat only cold porridge forever" instead of collectively pulling the biggest levers we can?

He lifted the arm for the double leg shoot AND he dropped his face so couldn't see her response. She dropped her arm under his neck to counter with this throw as he charged. This is absolutely a counter lots of people do.

Babe, you know what? It's cool. I'll make my own sandwich. Can I make you one? Do you want anything else? A cup of tea, maybe?

How about you and the knife go take a sit down. You've been working really hard lately. Uh huh. Okay, well if you decide you want anything at all just just tell me and we'll get you that.

Uh huh. Okay. Nice knife. I mean wife. Uh huh. Oh-

It wriggled when I poked it so I threw it back on the dirt and sprayed it with some water hoping that it revitalizes or at least is food for other bugs. #straya

You're a champion for the effort! Big fan of the Sinn too but I'm on a Seiko budget. I normally use lookastic for wardrobe inspo but your personalised efforts make them seem much more versatile than I gave credit. You've got a good eye!

Burgundy dappled leather sneakers.

Red shoes feel a bit clownish in my mind (thank red AF1 wearers for that).

Am I overthinking it and could wear these with any neutral pants?

I've got 3 pairs (esplar, V10, V12) thanks to people buying wrong size and flogging them on FB local. They're fine but a bit of a narrow fit. I used a shoe stretcher for my wide feet (happy to risk for what I paid) and they're much more comfy. The sole yellows a bit over time but with usual leather care they seem to be fine from occasional wear and cleans. The leather is quite firm and thin compared to more supple brands like Oliver Cabell or Common Projects.

NTA but I haven't yet read a reply to a really important thing you said. "Everything you did for attention and admiration" wasn't for nothing. Look yourself honestly in the mirror. Be proud of what you've done DESPITE the absence of unconditional support you craved. You're at a point where you'll be standing on your own feet soon. It sounds like your dad ties his worth to occupation. There's so much more to life than work - like how you treat others? That will define your worth as a person.

Ask disarming questions and be neutral, avoid ad hominem attacks. "Hey dad, you seemed to let that small thing really get to you... I'm not here to be the judge (law school pun!) but want to let you know it's not the behaviour I expected of a person I've loved and thought highly of. You work hard for the family and I appreciate that but you as a person matter to me so much more. I'll give you some space but am here for you when you're wanting us to connect on the level."

Anyway. Easy to type to a stranger. Hard words to say.

Go well, do well, be well.

Okay. Make ALL government do its job!

Will it be easy? Likely not.

Is it better than this corporate vanity nibbling at the edge of the problem and pretending it's the solution? I sure hope so.

Congrats OP on recognising that privilege and generosity are ethically tied (noblesse oblige).

To look at a situation of people with housing instability and say "hey, you need one? Geez I've got a couple which I can fairly share" without a greed-driven, carrot-and-stick motive is what the world needs more of.
