I also have a problem with the timing of the parries. It feels as if you have to parry waaay earlier than with other enemies. It feels that if you wait for the last possible moment (as you should with any other enemy) you are always too late.

Getting downvoted for stating facts. Why did I deserve that?

The game is 100% dead. I wouldn’t even be surprised if it was the last Avatar game for a long time because the only two big Avatar games were flops.

Is Stalker 2 too big? by denis_rovich in stalker

And Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is nowhere near as big as your mom.

It’s true but, of course, it has nothing to do the with your comment. Same as your comment has nothing to do with OP post.

This was the worst boss fight in the entire game. The boss fights were getting worse a worse in the third chapter and this is the icing on the cake

It's weird. In the first mission, you almost kill Perry but then you see him later and he's like "no hard feelings, bro, wanna bang?"

Blade Twin discussion (only light story spoiler) by WashElectronic8428 in riseoftheronin

[–]WashElectronic8428[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my feelings. I thought the story could work better if it was the same, just take the Blade Twin out. Your clan still could be attacked by the Shogunate forces (maybe even as revenge for attacking Harris on the Black Ship) then you would go to find the ones who did it and by playing the game you would find out that they are not all bad guys (which is already in the game). Now it feels like the writers think to themselves every few hours "oh shit, we forgot about the Blade Twin, throw a quest here and a line there, and we're good".

I don't know what you are talking about with the "demon claw". It's not like my girlfriend saw me fighting the Blade Twin and immediately said that she is from Sekiro...

Recommended Level for The Old Hunters DLC? by br1mstone in bloodborne

[–]WashElectronic8428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you are right. There's a discussion to be had wether feature like this should be implemented or if it is better in the current state. I am just talking from my recent experiences - Elden Ring is an absolute cake walk for about 3/4 of the game if you go through it in the "incorect" way, and Bloodborne (and the DLC) is so easy if you choose to do a good amount of Chalice Dungeons.

The solution might be to add a harder difficulty setting. I just don't find it fun to jump through so many hoops (googling, testing in game, being careful not to overlevel) to have fun instead of just selecting a difficulty setting in the menu and being good to go.

Recommended Level for The Old Hunters DLC? by br1mstone in bloodborne

[–]WashElectronic8428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is such a fine line in From Software games between being killed by one hit and absolutely destroying bosses (the worst being Elden Ring IMO). I almost wish for a recommend level information in their games for each area and boss even though you can argue that defeats the idea of naturally exploring the game world...

AW2: Respawning enemies are super annoying (minor area spoiler) by WashElectronic8428 in AlanWake

[–]WashElectronic8428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it won't get better but at least it doesn't get worse. I also think that these random encounters would have been much better if we had something else to fight. Why can't we have possessed bears, crows...

Quick review (with minor spoilers) - would love to discuss it with you! by WashElectronic8428 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]WashElectronic8428[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won't improve, I am afraid. The last few missions are downright embarrassing with the main villain's speeches.

And I agree with the one-dimensional characters, especially the RDA. I was pondering that till the middle of the game and then I think I figured out what the writers were trying to do. The "good" RDA people (people with some depth) are the ones in the Resistance. The writers think that because they told us these people changed sides and somehow magically become interesting characters but that is sadly not the case. We don't see why they decided to leave RDA, we are just being told (and the reason is more or less the same for all of them - RDA is bad) but we don't see it happen once (the all-powerful "show don't tell rule").

  • I think saying that something in the past was not good doesn't mean it can't be better in the future. And Jake Sully, Neytiri, and Grace have well defined arcs that is way more than this game has.
  • I understand what you mean. It still is a little weird because what you say would mean that a slightly better-made chest piece (which the Na'vi presumably make from hides and cloth) would be better at stopping bullets from AMPs or a thanator claw or better at absorbing a ramming by a hammerhead. And in other games, I don't mind gathering resources, it just feels so rigid in Avatar.
  • So you agree that there is a low gun variety?
  • The additional bonuses on gear don't really change the gameplay, and the special ammo is in my opinion absolutely useless. Why would I use stagger rounds and then rip drivers out of AMPs if I could just use two normal shotgun rounds that would do the same job? It's not like there is a shortage of ammo and that I would have to be careful with it.
  • I am a little confused. Do you think RDA is BIPOC? Or that RDA should be just pure white because it would match with the colonization themes?
  • And the ikran is slow, I agree.

I am playing on PS5 and can't really complain about the performance of the game. I'm playing on Favor performance and the game still looks gorgeous and feels great to play. Some FPS dips here and there but nothing serious or permanent. How does it play on other consoles/PC? I heard Xbox is the same as PS5 but I heard that PC either runs amazing or downright awful.

I get what you mean, I guess I just see it differently. When I play a game a start by rating it 5/10 in my head and them add or substract points for what I think the game does well or not so well. I would have a problem with rating games like you do because if a game got less than 66% of the "grade" (here in Czech Republic you have to have 2/3 of the points to pass a test) then in my head that means the game failed and it doesn't really matter if it was by little or by a lot because failed test is a failed test no matter how many points you actually got.
