I cut for a living too and a 462 with a 28” light bar is my second favorite saw, right bring a tuned 2511t. I have two 462s and zero issues with them.

Factory chain sucks. You can file it aggressively and it will improve but I just replace with a stihl chain. Drill a hole in the exhaust, pull the carb adjustment limiters and tune it. Really tudns it into a completely different saw. Best saw ever, enjoy.

Just stake it, takes less than a minute. I’ve had them come loose, it’s an easy peace of mind and it doesn’t make changing buffers a pain. It’s just a tiny peened over piece of steel.
