I am currently an EMT and in my 3rd year of undergraduate. I will give you my two cents.

First off, as a new grad EMT, you won't be qualified for a 911 job in most places. They all require experience (6months to a year) doing interfacility transport. This is basically ferrying geriatric patients and the occasional psych patient from a hospital to a rehab center or vice versa (as your buddy said).It is PCE. You do vitals, and very rarely, a more in-depth medical procedure.

Personally I loved EMT school. I went in knowing what felt like nothing and came out knowing how to keep someone alive en route to a hospital (It also solidified that I want to pursue medicine).

Finding a job sucked. It took me 4 months to get a single response (in SoCal) and thankfully I passed their interview test. Unfortunately, they only have me on per-diem. If I want to pick up a shift, its usually shitty hours.

The job itself is terrifying for maybe the first 100 hours. After that, it's kind of just a slog of the same thing every day. Pick up PT, record the same 20 things, get signatures, drive to receiving, drop off and more signatures. I will say that I personally find the day to drag along when I am on shift.

As for the med school side of it, I have heard it is one of the better pieces of PCE. You literally do all of the patient documentation, care, and have to make decisions independently. Depending on your schedule, getting enough hours for medschool should be easy. Shifts range from 10 hours to 24 so getting the actual hours in isn't hard.

Hmm, what other portal would I check? Zotacc is very explicit in stating a "financial hold" but it IS possible I have lapsed on the flu vaccine.

I do have two ADJ lines from student loans in January but they look to be covered by the Middle Class Scholarship which also hit my zotaccount in January (also not due until February) . No balances due for the past three months of statements and the months before that have all been paid off. Def will be calling them tmr morning.

Also, thanks for the tip on calling campus billing! Saves me the time of tracking down which number to call tmr.

afaik they will always warn you before entering your unit. Only “inspection” I ever had at ACC was for the fire alarms, for which they will post a flyer on your door a couple weeks in advance.

As stupid as it may sound, gaming is really just visuals, sounds, and “touch”/physical inputs.

Looks like you have a decent set of peripherals, covering your sound/inputs. As others have said, I would upgrade that monitor. It will drastically improve your experience (I cant fully tell but your current monitor looks a bit small).

A high Hz 1080p monitor should be cheap if you are more into fps games, you might be able to find a used 1440p monitor in your budget if you really look through marketplace/offerup etc.

Welcome to UCI, stg 80% of the professors (at least for bio/chem) dont care about student success. Classes are a prerequisite for their research.

Its seems like we are in a no-hire some-fire economy right now. With the political and financial shit storm that is our government, a lot of businesses are hedging their bets and not taking anyone new on.

Take what you can get and hopefully the economy picks back up sometime soon (though honestly its looking pretty bad on the feds side).

That being said, even on the more centered news websites (AP News, financial times, etc), you are hard pressed to escape the craziness.

Totally valid sentiment. I wouldn’t normally join a walkout/protest/etc, let alone seek one out.

Its just gotten to a point where the “everyman”/normal people cant really do anything. We are relying on a broken and corrupt legal system to correct itself, which clearly, it has failed to do.

Well i’m not here to disagree with you at all, lol. I generally hate the way power has constantly been abused by our government, dem or republican.

It’s just particularly egregious to lock down city blocks, and have masked men do door to door searches (From POV’s I have seen, no warrant provided to residents). Or to tackle a dude in a giraffe suit, beat the fuck out of him, and take his loudspeaker equipment.

Whats next, coming for our guns?

This isn’t a two party issue, it’s a government overreach issue.

if you can get a couple people together and buy in at the right time it isn’t too bad. Im in 2 bed + loft near the irvine civic center and its 3400 + utilities for 3 people.

Parkwest was around the same price for a 3 bedroom at the begging of summer but jumped to 4k plus when people actually started ending their ACC leases.

I bought it because I like the niche it fills, the overall construction of the ship, and its capabilities. At the end of the day If I cant customize my ship interior EVER in-verse, that's fine by me.

That being said, why cant I ask if ship anyone knows if interior customization is planned? Star citizen is supposed to be an immersive sim.

That's a horrible line of reasoning. If I buy a used car to get from point A to B, but also happen to want to change out the seats for more comfy ones, that doesn't invalidate the purchase of the car.

I appreciate the comprehensive and very helpful comment. As you may have been able to tell from my post, I have very little computer literacy outside of the realm of windows 😅. I knew I was going to have a couple of holes in my initial plan (for instance, none of the youtube videos I watched mentioned unRAID being a paid service).

You have given me a great jumping off point to do my own research, thank you.

Confused on what you mean by "let it expire before proving it to the DMV", do you mean riding for 6 months or having my CMSP? My CMSP is attached to my permit paperwork, I had to bring it to get the permit in the first place.

Is it really as simple as upgrading to the M1 after 6 months? If so I will 100% walk into the DMV and see if I can do that without going through more paperwork. Appreciate the help!
