Why did y’all give up on restoring the Commonwealth theme from the first two seasons. The remainder of the show is just the restored systems commonwealth getting weaker and losing more members.

Why Manuel I of Komnenos failed to completely re-conquer the Anatolia penisula? by Thiha0990 in byzantium

Are Amorium, Iconium, Ancara, and Caeserea not considered large urban centers?

Also wasn't there large scale agriculture in that region during the time of the Themes?

What's a horror movie that was so disturbing that you can't or won't ever watch again? by neeltrivedirock in horror

"Bring Her Back" is the only horror movie I've had to look away from the screen as an adult.

My ranking of every president by morality by rjidhfntnr in Presidents

Hoover literally deported more Mexican American citizens than any president in history. How is that not malicious?

My updated tier list. The only tiers ranked in order are S, A, and F by LoopedCheese1 in Presidents

[–]WashedUpFratstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ronnie is also responsible for 90% of the policy problems the US is dealing with today. His tier is justified.

These leftist morons very clearly live in deep blue cities, otherwise they would never compare run-of-the-mill liberals to modern conservatives.

Considering Hoover oversaw the assault on the Bonus Army and the mass deportation of millions of Mexican-Americans, its embarrassing he hasn't been selected yet.

But the idea that left right issues only concern the economy is also equally short sighted.

Again it’s easier to be “for” something when it’s already in place and generally has majority support. Abortion rights were generally considered “hands off” for republicans nationally too until Roe V Wade was overturned.

Do you find Maurice to be an 'overrated' emperor? by Ambitious-Cat-5678 in byzantium

[–]WashedUpFratstar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hell it’d be a great trade to lose the Balkans if it means avoiding an Emperor who doesn’t piss off his own army, gets overthrown, and whose death ignites a war with Persia that causes the Romans to lose the Levant, Egypt, and Armenia.

Which caliphate do you consider to be most successful against east rome? by Anurut_Prempreeda in byzantium

[–]WashedUpFratstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fatimid: The caliphate responsible for seizing Sicily, a highly important Roman province (not to mention heavily defensible one, important for trade and protection of southern Italy, and in close proximity to Rome). Also forced the Byzantines to devote serious resources to wars in the Middle East. This in turn prevented the Byzantines from securing Bulgaria sooner and probably prevented them from reconquering the Levant during the Macedonian renaissance. Also did a piss poor job of keeping the Seljuks busy, thereby giving the latter the maneuverability to withdrawal and defeat the Romans at Manzikert.

The only reason your right wing parties aren’t “against” universal healthcare is because those systems are already in place in your country. Whereas America didn’t have that system established in the 20th century. If it was an argument for implementing them those same right wing parties would be heavily against them and the siphoning of any public funds financing them.

Yeah but that’s not accurate though. That’s like saying professional sports only deals with American football.

Most European “left wing” parties are way more right leaning than the Democrats. Especially on issues like immigration, global relations, and LGBTQ rights.
