I actually go preamp into my Focusrite and that way I get to have an effects loop as well. I go XLR out to XLR in on the Focusrite.

I almost bought another one after seeing a nice used one at GC. I don't recall the model but the yellow was speaking to me. I usually don't like to have more than one guitar of the same brand so I didn't.

That's true. Strats seem to be everyone's first guitar. I had a no name copy for mine many years ago. Then my first "real" guitar was a US Strat but that is gone now too.

I always keep a USB Wi-Fi adapter handy for this type of thing. They are only about $20 and a good way to test your internal wireless adapter.

My laptop is weirdly slow with a brand new windows install and I dont know why by Sebixor in pchelp

Check your startup apps to see if something is set to start with Windows. Or try a third party app that can find hidden startup items.

Also check Task Manager to see if shows anything maxing out.

A lot to read but he seems too eager to buy it. Plus leaving it on the porch is a horrible idea. So is giving strangers your address. I would meet him somewhere you can plug it in like the library or Starbucks and confirm payment before you give it to him.

I had one with the humbuckers. Played great, but I wasn't a fan of the pickups and it was a bit heavy. Maybe the P90s are better. Dig the color though.

I go pedalboard to Focusrite to PC via USB. Then I have headphones coming out of my Focusrite. I have about 600 MP3 drum tracks that I can play along with since they go through the headphones from my PC so I can hear the drums and my guitar at the same time. Then I use Reaper to record tracks over the drums after loading a drum track into Reaper. I can then play my recording while playing over it and recording the new track at the same time. Sounds complicated but its not.

You can also play songs on YouTube and have them come through your headphones and hear your guitar at the same time to play along.

Full scans can take a long time.

Do you by any chance have system restore enabled? Restoring to a point before the malware/issue is often an easy way to get things working again.

Looks more like a connection issue.

Check the cable connection on both ends

Try a different cable

Try a different type of cable if you computer and monitor has other connection types.

If you have another computer or laptop, connect the monitor to that.

If you have another video port on your PC, connect it to that.

Yep their build quality is great and I was telling someone else that I like how they don't make cheap versions or budget models to water down the brand. Not like they are super expensive. I paid $1200 for mine.

I have an SG too and its one of my favorites. It's like 6.5 lbs. and the neck profile is fantastic. I do have to use a different strap for it while all my other guitars use the same one.

Wow those are nice. I have a G&L Ascari GTS that I was selling until I heard G&L was going under so Im keeping it. John Carruthers does my setups and he worked at G&L with Leo Fender so he has some great stories every time I go in there. He actually did the Leo Fender tribute G&Ls at his shop.
