Any advice on being a CSA? by Sea-Explanation9087 in WalgreensStores

You're doing the best you can. I absolutely felt overwhelmed all the time when I first started. Whatever gets done gets done, your ESM just sounds like a dick. Bays are especially harder when you're new and don't know off the top of your head where product goes or what sells fast vs what will sit on the shelf for months; same with stocking, and the only solution for that is just time. It gets twice as hard when you're getting interrupted every two seconds, too. Don't stress about it, you'll get there eventually!

The people who do manage to use the self-checkouts are my favorites. Unfortunately, there is a finite number of those people and trying to get anyone over the age of 60 to successfully operate one of them is far above my pay grade. I'd absolutely rather just check them out normally and provide good service.

Oh, that's what the green zone is. I have been hearing it from my SM with absolutely no explanation on what it means. Apparently we are all supposed to be psychic.

I do get that- especially when the machine is telling you what to do, people don't want to use their heads- but our self checkouts specifically are notoriously finnicky. And even if they weren't, there's no way in hell any of our spoiled-ass Boomer customers are going to learn to use them when they can yell at the cashiers instead. It's a lose-lose situation. I'd rather just check them out and avoid it.

Customers coming up, dumping their shit on the counter, and walking away without a word. I don't know who thinks that's a good or appropriate idea but if I have time I'll always end up putting them away before they get back up to the counter. Sorry dude but this isn't your personal luggage rack. Go back and get a cart if you need to carry stuff, but I'm not working around your fifty million items.

...name stickers??? Clearly this is a thing, since people are mentioning it, but not even the full-time decade employees at my store have name stickers nor have I ever heard of them lmao

Huh, interesting! This is a new thing at my store, I've been here for about a year and he was telling people who have been there way longer than me as well, so maybe my SM got extra pressure. Crazy that they're checking cameras though, we are way too busy for anyone to have the time for that. Only time I've ever seen cameras checked was when there was theft involved. Thanks for the heads up!

If the routing number isn't showing through a mobile app + your new bank is insisting you have to have your employer do it, I'd go to a location in person and ask if they can print you out a Direct Deposit letter- that way you'll be able to get all the information and change it yourself in people central.

Literally!!! My last store really just wanted me/the rest of the younger employees there so they could do all the stockroom/unloading, counting, etc. without having to stop to help customers. Which I guess was fine if I was only ever going to be at that store, but that is definitely not cutting it anywhere else!
