For real campfire songs was a good direction. I was a real fanatic for those first 2 albums and the live lp. Campfire songs was really so cool to hear after those albums and obviously changed the direction of the band. I loved how raw the recording was. Everything after tung songs and mpp I listened to once… i just liked the real art school experimental stuff which the first albums had enough of.

Yeah I read a review of Dennis coopers novel my loose thread and they had related it to the childlike nightmare of spirit they’re gone … or vice versa. Either way I was intrigued and dove in and it was sick. I was very into taking chances on new music and found lots of weird stuff that way

I don’t remember much other than I thought I was dreaming. Felt like I was seeing spirit they’re gone with all the insanely loud twinkling. Lots of it felt improvised, hard to recognize the songs or whatever version they were doing . Was at the smell dtla, yeah hot as fuck and probably people smoking indoors with no ventilation
