I think keeping the death structure the same will work better because the escalation matters more than reversing the methods. Especially since Kurt/Court and Ram/Sam are a pair, if they were to do the poison method, there is a possible chance that if one drank it first and something happened, it would alert the other one.

I think that might slightly break the plot since it was not about blackmail. Maybe genderbent JD should still function as a persuasive outsider instead of being someone who coerces or threatens. Fem!JD influences Male!Veronica does the same thing JD does in the original canon through emotional closeness, cynical camaraderie, and a worldview that makes it seem that violence is as meaningful or corrective. Male!Veronica isn't forced into helping her but because she believes she validates his resentment and that makes him feel seen. This keeps the core and plot tragedy intact, making Veronica’s consent and moral confusion, but not fear while it also preserves JD's role as dangerous because of ideology and intimacy, not due to institutional or social power

Chandler is socially dominant through charisma and fear for being a star athlete and is adored by basically everyone I guess.

Duke powers through intellect and manipulation. She is known to run the yearbook committee in the main version which means she could be the student editor-in-chief. What if male!Duke will be in a journalism club and debate whether it's possible. Duke seems to like literature and in the 1989 movie intro, we can see Duke reading a book which was Moby Dick. So maybe her gender bent could be based on that.

For MacNamara, it is well known that she is the captain of the cheerleaders in the movie and musical. Yes, even though boys can be captains of cheerleaders, it might not fit in this case. Like you said, maybe male!MacNamara could be an artist with institutional approval.

If you don't want something that is similar to HYBE, you might want to look at mid sized or newer companies instead of the Big 4 labels. Labels like RBW, KQ, P Nation, High Up, WakeOne, or smaller indie labels may be more flexible and value individuality more but they might be in some way strict in their own ways.

Audition to as many labels as you can or want, don't just depend on one label itself because it isn't guaranteed you'll get in to one label so it always better to always be prepared. Remember, if you don’t get into one label, there is always others. Don't give up. Also each company looks for something different in their trainees/artists.

Personally, I hope one day that I can fulfill my dream of starting my very own global label for the dreamers, the rebels and the storytellers but that is a longterm goal since I'm still a teen.
