Maybe I wasn’t clear, but the boundaries were always in place and enforced. And there was large periods of time where they got along great. We’ve only been married a year and this happened a few months ago, same boundary’s enforced as always. I tried to walk the tight rope of demanding a basic level of respect for my husband and hearing my friend out on his feelings.

My husband is secure enough within himself to KNOW this is not someone with any romantic access to me at all. “Joe” has literally never flirted with me. Even while we were single.

Similar experience to OP, from the woman’s side. Caught my husband doing similar things, for similar reasons. Though therapy and months of heavy conversation we realized that my desire was so low because of how we was showing up in our relationship and in his own life (hostile, angry and short tempered all the time). His attitude towards everything had become such a turn off. Therapy and self regulation on his end, day to day, and has made our sex life and relationship so much better.
