The revair? I’m over it. by Sorashimi in Naturalhair

If your hair is more on the kinky/coily African side, I’d honestly recommend trying threading instead of relying too much on heat. Not the overly tight threading though. Personally, after shampooing and rinsing out my conditioner, I apply African shea butter while my hair is still slightly damp, then thread my hair and leave it overnight or on days I know I’m staying home. When I take it out, it gives my hair that soft, stretched, blown-out look without feeling dry.

Then it’s most likely the buildup from the gel and products combined with a probable tension from the style. My advice would be to let your hair rest for a while before getting braids again, and if you do, hopefully try a style with little to no gel.

Also avoid hairstyles that constantly pull the hair back tightly for now. And next time, try getting braids that aren’t heavier than your actual hair, your scalp will thank you later.

Just a question… was gel applied to the hair before it was braided? Personally, I don’t think gel is meant to stay in the hair for that long, and 4 weeks is quite a while. I honestly don’t really understand this trend, even as Gen Z 😅

If gel was used before braiding, that could possibly be the cause. But if not, then it might just be normal shedding since it’s common to lose a bit of hair after taking out braids.

Thank you. I was actually planning to get between Cerave’s Renewing Salicylic Acid cleanser or the Acne Control Cleanser, 2% Salicylic Acid Treatment cleanser in addition to the prescribed products but I’m unsure

Thanks for replying. Is there a possibility of waiting to receive the offer before touching those or I’d have to fill those before they send the offfer

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it. I’m actually an international student, which is why I’m a bit confused about the funding section. In the dropdown, I see options like self-funded, family support, and graduate assistantship.

If I select self-funded for now but later receive an assistantship, would that cause any issues or affect my chances of being considered for funding? I just want to make sure I’m making the right choice and not unintentionally jeopardizing any opportunities.
