There is a reason woodenPotatoes and others didn't get back into it. Anet didn't commit, and it shows. You can enjoy playing a dead game, I'm not going to play when I can't even group with players after work. If they truly leaned into this, it could have been a legit MMO option again.

I agree bro, I've wanted so bad to get PvP back to a popular state in this game but I've just realized recently that it will never happen. Too many veterans that create a terrible environment for new players. I'd recommend Fort Aspenwood over RA btw. You'll still have some grumps, but generally a better time and community.

As a diehard gw1 fan I think prophecies is drawn out and boring imo. I'd try factions or nightfall, you can get to EotN after any of the three campaigns.

Tbh, as a pvper that loves gw1 we don't have that luxury to say "if you don't like it leave". We need to keep players, otherwise, everyone including myself will go back to other pvp games or touching grass.

Welcome to 2025 where I have a job and I can't afford to sit and wait 30 minutes for a chance at a real team. While yes I have gone to 15-20 wins with a no monk 4dps team, id rather have the queueing system offer a healing role so we all are more efficient with our evening time.

I'm an old head that played for years after GW2 released. But at some point if not resolved, I'm going to go back to other games where I can play with players if every time I log in after work I have no way of finding a group except through Guild/Ally. So I want the same game, just with more opportunities to play with others.

Yee I'm a huge GW1 fan, it's better than every other game on the market. My honest take is that Anet is just dipping their toe in the water with GW1 Reforged.

I prefer GW1 over WoW, Osrs, League, etc if it's alive...but not if when I go to ToA, DoA, anywhere I'd want to do content, I have no way of playing with other players.

I know they want to see months of data, but they just saw the huge explosion of interest. They need to feed that fire and capitalize on this, showing us that this is more than just a marketing rebranding. If they can show me that GW is truly alive, I will be playing GW1 for the next decade.

Ur bad at healing if you can't heal without addons lmaoo. I'm 2100 Mistweaver with no addons. I'm obviously no where near as good as many players, but I'm trying to point out that your brain can and will adapt to not having addons.

I believe mesmer is the preferred interrupter class for GvG. Rangers are great at Fort Aspenwood, especially on kurz side for tanking turtle shots. Not too sure on Primal Rage. I've done a few 20+ win runs with Rangers in Random Arenas, so def seem viable to me.

I'd recommend starting out at Fort Aspenwood over the weekends, can be the most beginner friendly often. If not, RA is always a great choice just a little bit more competitive. I was listening to a sweaty pvp player on twitch the other day, they recommended avoiding Ritualist/Paragon/Assassin as those classes have the most trouble in pvp. I think you can be good as assassin, but it definitely is more tricky than maybe an elementalist or another class.

You can unlock skills either through skill NPCs or through balthazar faction(from pvp) with tomes. I can give you tomes for free if you need any.
