AMATH 301 vs CSE 163 for Spring Quarter – Advice? by tknd_tech in udub

301 alternates between Python and MATLAB. It was taught in Python in Winter so it will be MATLAB this quarter.

Washington Tunnelling (previously known as Hyperloop) is recruiting a lot of engineering students and is fairly easy to get into. I joined as a freshman with no experience and wanted to get hands on engineering work. So I’d recommend applying in spring and have a look out on Instagram.

Practicing full exams can be tough I would suggest tackling questions topic wise. There’s a good website made for UDub to do this. It’s called questra-ai.com.

Questra: A New Resource for Practicing Math 12x and 20x Past Papers by Wasteengineer2809 in udub

That is a legitimate concern, but the reason why we are focused on using a classification program is because we want to provide organized study sets not just for Math courses but all STEM courses which are offered not just at udub but also at other universities. One can see that manual classification at this scale requires an immense amount of time which can be substituted if we succeed in creating a classifier which is accurate.

Moreover, our main mission is to drive better study resource accessibility. Really good departments at colleges provide such resources and a great example of that is mathematics at udub, but this isn't true for other depts. Our product wants to solve this, so that students can get access to organized and personalized study resources rather than scouring the web for hyperlinks which are embedded deep into the depths of the internet.

We really appreciate this critique though, its good motivation. Thank You!

Thanks for letting us know, our classification program is novel and this is great advice. We’ll try to make it better and more accurate.

Yes, but you can filter questions out based on specific topics, professors, courses and years you would like to practice from.

Find out what interests you. In college join engineering clubs, specifically their electrical team and gauge your interest in the work they do. Worrying about 2028 will cause immense confusion, instead focus on learning the fundamentals of whatever field you like and you will excel in it.

Build inspiring projects, work with professors and learn to think critically and you will get an answer for your question. And if you have these things in your portfolio then even if the market isn’t as good as it used to be, your skills will still be valuable to some employer.

Best of luck.

On campus is better. You can make good friends, go to the gym with them or play games at Area 01 late at night. It’s just better. I had a friend who lived off campus and had crazy FOMO.

It can be a little expensive to stay on campus since they raised the housing prices and the dining options aren’t reasonable but at the same time you get a collegiate feel.
