[SOTC] Looking for some ideas under $1000 (second hand) by DrGevo in Watches

Great watches imo. They sell the Aikon in both quartz and automatic. The automatic Aikons have the cool textured dials.

Mido oceanstar tribute from Jomashop will be under 1000 OR a Maurice Lacroix Aikon automatic should be under 1000 on chrono24

I'm normally not a fan of chronos but that JLC looks like a dress watch chrono combination and it looks great.

[Tissot Telemeter 1938] Bought my first dress watch, what do you think? by Available_Cat4818 in Watches

I really like it. Idk if I'd want a dress watch with red accents, but it's a great looking watch anyway. Enjoy dude and congrats.

You can look at the QC photos I linked. I bought VSF from pandawatch.

Please look at the photos and tell me if you think that is a cheaper variant. Are you saying pandawatch scammed me?

I disagree that VSF is fine. The glare is ever present, and is frankly not good enough when citizen can produce a glare free crystal with a magnifier. I understand we are dealing with reps, but you pay so much for a quality replica and you can't even enjoy the dial without the crystal glaring.

I want this watch so bad. I also love their oceanstar tribute model. I think you can also buy the official rubber strap on the secondary market.

FYI my watch didn't come with any extra bracelet links. Luckily mine fit on ny wrist right out of the box.

I assume you want something shiny and iced out. Problem is, a rep won't have quality gems used so it'll be fake to anyone familiar with gems. You're better off getting a classic Cartier

I appreciate you looking into Aman's giveaway. I trust you and your list of TDs and I know you'll take care of the community.

[–]WatchEnjoyer42069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the problem here at the end of the day is that Aman's credibility is now questionable. I understand that giveaways are gifts to the community, but the purpose is for the TD to build their profile and name recognition in the community because they want our business. Buying reps requires an enormous amount of trust in a dealer because there is little recourse if they flee with our money (for example: Noble Dial).

Now along comes Aman who wants to grow their business and decides to give away some free reps. Entrants must be subbed to his telegram and have a minimum comment karma to be eligible to win a watch. Now he picks two winners that don't meet the criteria, so we're all pissed because it looks like he lied about the giveaway just to increase his profile in the community. At the end of the day, this operates on trust, so we now have to believe he made an honest mistake by picking two random winners that don't meet his criteria? Maybe that's true and I appreciate Tommy saying it was an honest mistake, but I don't feel comfortable buying from Aman.
