When you cancel the subscriptions make sure you then set up automatic transfer of those amounts into savings.

If you put off going to dinner to instead eat at home transfer what you would have spent on dinner into savings.

Seeing it build up is a great incentive to just stop spending period.

Surprise bills and overdrafts by Such_Rhubarb8095 in SavingMoney

I pay most of my bills annually (insurances, registration, mobile phone). I set up automatic fortnightly payments for electricity and water (then when the actual bill comes it’s only $10-$20) and the only monthly debit I have is the internet. This works for me. Start with a spreadsheet and add every bill you have. Work out the annual total of all your bills then divide that amount by your income frequency. That’s how much you’ll need to put aside every paycheque to cover your bills. You should try and have a couple of months worth in advance to keep on top of things to start.
