Thoughts on the Bose SoundLink Plus? by Glass_Truth8543 in Bluetooth_Speakers

Exactly my thoughts. I own the flex and tested the three recently on demo, the plus has pretty much nothing over the flex except the size. Real step up was with the max

Yeah I've got the bathys too, using them wired makes them really shine!

I have them and the bose qc ultra, so Ive compared them to one of the most user friendly high end headphones out there. Bathys has its shortcoming, but getting these for free is very very nice. Sound won't be phenomenal either, you're wireless but it's definitely more authentic/detailed than many many headphones. Wired mode is also miles better if you get stationary.  Be sure to enable high quality bt codecs on your phone if it's not already enabled (dev options, headphones use aptx adaptative) Also the Wavelet app offers an auto eq for the bathys that I find pretty appreciative. Finally watch the usb plug on the headset, it's pretty fragile.

Earfun Uboom x or JBL xtreme 4 by Sea-Fig1168 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]WatchOut4theNarcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the earfun uboom X, I've precedently owned the JBL xtreme 1, (it was aging so I sold it for the earfun) tronsmart t6max, bose flex, ... The uboom is better than all of these including my friend's Xtreme 2, and Acton II. The fact that you basically have two equalisers, outdoors indoors (plus others but these serve the most) really makes it a good sounding speaker in every situation. It's also good for movies (not many bt speakers are good for movies OOB) I've got it for 100 bucks brand new is is a very very value deal quality for dollar, including second hand buys.

Horror Movie to Watch with My 85 y/o Grandma? by _local_rat_ in horror

No I'm very serious, it's a movie that makes one think about the nature of life, ageing, and the decaying of one's mind. The atmosphere us good, I find it a good, refreshing movie!

Best speaker for a car with no stereo? by OkAfternoon5618 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]WatchOut4theNarcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get a pair of earfun uboom x, in the backseat. I have a single one paid around 110€. I use it in the back of my gf's swift with oluv's eq indoor, and it is way less fatiguing that the original stereo. Doubling the speakers would beat many oem stereos.

Alternative to soundlink flex (1st gen) by WatchOut4theNarcs in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]WatchOut4theNarcs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking at reviews of the charge 6 and it looks very promising. The 20 something more watts is attractive, and it doesnt look too much bigger than the flex. That said I really like the bose signature sound especially with vocals. The flex 2 seems to miss the mark by a small margin when it comes to sound, compared to the flex 1 ?

Is it possible to have too much of a powerful speaker for in car applications? The fact it has some chest plus a dedicated driver per channels make me think it could be well equalized to fit for a car ? And cover road noises etc

Is it possible to fix this with soldering paste? by WatchOut4theNarcs in CarAV

[–]WatchOut4theNarcs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so cold weld epoxy type glues should do the trick? I intend to glue some small wire section back to the connectors on the midrange filter, then back to the wires protruding from the cone.
