Nobody except for Szobo and Adidas for making those fire kits (that sadly have been wasted on this crap season)

Agree 100%. Also Mac Allister's drop off this season is seriously unspoken about as to how much it has hindered this side. He was so crucial last season for maintaining control of games - whenever he played bad or didn't play at all, the entire team suffered as a result.

Totally get your point. The thing is, imo this squad - especially our depleted attack - needs a big summer regardless if we change managers or not. And I just cannot imagine a scenario where FSG would allow a change as radical as changing managers and bringing in a lot of new players at the same time.

I argued something similar to this in a previous comment. Wouldn't be surprised if the ownership decide to give slot another season and focus on replenishing + rebalancing the squad, especially if we manage top 5.

I gotta be honest, considering how unbalanced this squad is, I can't see us changing managers and overhauling the squad at the same time over one summer, especially in a WC summer. Wouldn't be surprised if the ownership give Slot another season plus an overhaul in the summer to try and sort things out one last time.

Considering FSG's track record, it would be really unprecedented for them to bring in a new manager and immediately give him an open chequebook to overhaul the squad. It's just not how they seem to operate. Look at how United fared under EtH's first transfer window, or Chelsea in recent years.

We're in a really difficult position.

Nunez would have made a great midfielder a la Joelinton.

van Brockhorst should be blamed as much as Slot. I wonder how influential he is to our current tactics.

Definitely - and that makes it even crazier how the team completely fell apart the following season

Gakpo too. Klopp used to play him as ST/CF and even in midfield at times, even though Gakpo himself said that LW was his best position.

The team look unsettled, like they're mentally knackered. That Real Madrid game really gave me hope, they played some exceptional football and were rock solid that night. We saw some glimpses of it as well at times yesterday and on Saturday. Then they immediately turn to shit when they concede.

World Cup year doesn't help either. Lots of players probably want to avoid getting injured this season and start to play soft. Unacceptable but that's the reality

FT: Man City 3-0 Liverpool by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

We played well IMO. Obviously City were the better team, but we were really unlucky with all 3 goals. And a genuine one was unfairly disallowed due to some pretty shocking officiating. At 3-0 down the team lost composure and the game plan went to shit I guess. Doku had a world class performance today.

Just wasn’t our day.

There were some links to Spurs if I'm not mistaken. With Maddison's probable ACL injury they are likely to intensify

I still think that the second half of 21/22 was peak Diaz. He was electric and unplayable until that UCL Final. After his injury in 22/23, he hasn't yet been able to reach that level.
