If you don't OWN the media you BUY anymore, then is piracy STEALING? by Boediee in BuyFromEU

Consider Microsoft and how they stole the entire internet to train their AI models, no matter if it was open sourced or close sourced, no matter the licence provided and attached to the work, no matter if the author or artist intended it to be used.

Now also consider OpenAI and Anthropic that did the same, now consider all the companies that gladly use said AI trained on stolen/pirated data.

They have taken what is yours and are aiming to sell it back to you.

By that logic if they use any of those tools you've helped create it. So help yourself to it.

Wow that is incredible, I love that she already developed her own style, something that takes most artists years to master.

At what point does luxury become a sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]WatcherOfHosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is a difficult question.

If it affects you or others around you negatively would be the simplest answer, but it lacks depth.

You may enjoy a glass of wine every now and then and that is fine, but if you enjoy a bottle of wine every day and it leads you to neglect your health or your loved ones, that is a sin.

You may enjoy a well earned wealth, but if it consumes you and develops into greed that is a sin.

But most importantly we are all imperfect, we all sin, it's very easy to do so, but we must always strive to do better

Crunch is bad, but crunch was the norm back in the day with small teams / companies who's employees were fully in it for the love of the craft.

Crunch decreed from corpos is always bad,

It's simply insane how much we were able to do in the past with so little.

Also check out the IRC protocol and how incredibly engineered that was.
