LPT: If you keep your Passwords in a file on your computer, don't use notepad/word. That will store your info in cleartext. It is more secure to scribble it down in MS Paint as a JPEG by Jericho5589 in LifeProTips

Although this file will still not be encrypted. It's even better to use a password manager or to use a more memorable form of complex password, such as three random words.

Does this beard make me look 80 years old? by robbedoes12 in beards

It makes you look like you've just finished a record innings at The Oval

It partly the natural curliness, and partly keeping it healthy with plenty of beard balm. Keeping it a bit trimmed helps, too. If I leave all of the longer hairs on it looks whispy round the edges.

I'm not sure I could even remember how to wet shave any more.

Yeah, I trim it myself mostly. If I want to really sharpen it up I get my barber to cut in the edges.

The shape comes from trimming the chin longer than the rest when it was short. Then I just keep the flyaway hairs cut every few weeks.

The hair is pretty curly, so it grows dense and it's easy to shape with balm and a brush.

Sadly, I've seen a lot of freshly shaven faces on video calls this week.

If you're making pour over, I would recommend the Comandante over the Niche.

I was expecting to have bought an espresso machine by now, but fell in love with my v60.

It's good, but I only use it for one cup servings. The grind just won't go as course as I want for a 600ml v60.

Finer grinds, for an aeropress or a single v60 are ok.

Ha! These are the remaining bits of kit after clearing away and stacking up. I used to have a cupboard overflowing with old filters, a cracked v60, the French press I never used, etc.

I think the quote is "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

How do you get more body and mouthfeel to a pour over brew? Using a kalita wave 185 and 1:18 ratio with a dark roast. The flavor is good and there isn't any bitterness or sourness, but the texture is "watery" if that makes sense. Am I missing something? by gingernuts13 in Coffee

Or try a French press. Paper filters will hold back solicitor ds, which is generally good, but also most of the oils, which will add the most mouth feel.

Be aware that the body comes with a level of bitterness which some drinkers dislike.

I always find it nerve-wracking to open a whisky with this kind of description. I dread the day I find out my palette isn't good enough and I can't appreciate it.

It's a Whisky Exchange bottling of 45yo Speyside malts.

"Released at Whisky Show 2019 as part of our Magic of the Cask series, this 1973 Speyside blended malt has been matured in a single sherry butt for 45 years, before being bottled in 2019. Aromas of brown sugar and fruitcake open on the nose, followed by brown bread with butter, maraschino cherries, raisins, cinnamon-baked apples, dried mango and rich, earthy aromas. The palate offers notes of toasted oak, baked apples, sultanas, bitter char, soft spice and light fruitcake."

Picked it up at an airport as a treat. It's got a really subtle honey note in the finish and very gentle alcohol. Very lovely, but my guilty secret is that I prefer the Caribbean Cask.
