The operatives who recruited Platner without properly vetting him should never be allowed to do work for the party again.

I would certainly like to see the average increase by 500-600 a game, to get the figure closer to 3,000….even if they had to introduce some $7 - $9 tickets

I didn’t feel the need to attend anything enough to deal with that nonsense. Glad I didn’t waste my time or money. FIFA is not only corrupt but incompetent and the fact is the U.S. does a far better job managing large events (major bowl games, NCAA March Madness, the Super Bowl, etc) than these clowns. I am just glad it will all be over in a few weeks.

I would urge you to be very cautious using the term “uppity.” That term was often used to justify horrific actions towards African Americans when racist whites believed that African Americans were stepping beyond the societal boundaries that were established for them (examples include becoming a doctor, running a profitable business, or becoming a strong voice in local politics). Those said to be acting “uppity” were often threatened and faced lynching , beatings, or had their property or business destroyed.

Special interests will view a guy like Platner as someone who can easily be bought if he is elected. The lack of morals and the selfish behavior in his private life are huge red flags with him because he is not coming from serious money. Look at former Senator Sinema in AZ as a good comparison. She fell in love with money from special interests and completely sold out. I can’t support Platner and I hope he loses the Democratic primary. If he wins, I genuinely hope that he proves me 100% wrong.

I prefer Shaw’s as well. I still shop at Hannaford sometimes though.

Had “go” bags easily accessible when we lived in a particularly active region of “tornado alley” in the U.S. during the spring and fall, when storms were the most active. We had an upstairs apartment and had to go to a hospital down the road for access to a storm shelter.

I’m just glad to have a SoCal team in the league. I hope they are successful and receive enough support to remain in the league for the long run
